Mac & Zbrush 3 Thread

Apparently, we won’t be doing displacements, and texturing in Zbrush 3 any time soon, so maybe we dress all our characters up with Modo fur:

nothing…zip from pixologic’s zbrush as yet…they are ‘surposed to be’ showing a sneek peek at zbrush 3.5…maybe it was just a joke to un-nerve the mudbox camp over at autodesk??

Well on one hand there is going to be some outraged members here if nothing comes to fruition. So I would think they would put something out there just to cool people off. I know I am already thinking ZBrush isnt a good career move in the long run. They dont seem to have their head on straight and mudbox while still behind is making great strides out there and it is backed buy a good company that has the resources and the money to make it work. Even if it isnt mac compatible. More people will be trying to learn mudbox simply because of the easier UI and that will in itself add more to the community. I know that zbrush has turned allot off from it’s complicated UI and it’s negelct of mac users sure hasnt helped this at all.

On the other hand there hasnt been a hint of anything whatsoever so that leads one to believe there’s nothing to mention. There is the possibility they wont carry forth on mac as they now have to invest all they can into keeping ahead of the competition.

We will know by tomorrow what it is to be for sure. When siggraph is over I will make my decision on if this company has a future and if I should start putting my time and resources elsewhere.

This reminds me of a MMORPG called Everquest. It was the only one of it’s kind out there and it’s customer service was beyond horrible. The game had countless issues they never updated their customers on anything. They essentially abused the fact that there was no other option out there.

When other games came online they lost most of their customer base overnight. I am sure many know about World of Warcraft. When this game came out Everquest turned into a ghost town and from what I have heard it still is for the most part.

When you have a monopoly on something you can control it as you wish but when your customers have another option they wont forget how they were treated.

At this point I’m considering going amish.

Well, ya gotta hand it to Pixologic’s business model: “Do absolutely nothing and get talked about.” I bet their booth is just a crudely painted banner saying “Aurick says to get back to Zbrush 2 and shut up.”

maybe they’ll be releasing it in 3-d with glasses

could it be that autodesk bought zbrush silently and told them to just fade away? then put their booth right by the autodesk one to prove a point that mudbox is advancing while their competition sits idle?
oh autodesk you sexy, demon machine.

I sure hope they don’t get caught up in the stereoscopic 3d obsession.

…are we there yet?

that was kinda my point

Apparently not! :frowning:

LOL!

i swear i must be wearing out the F5 key, and that song lyric “the more you ignore me, the closer i get” keeps running through my mind…

Amen to that!!!

There is no one from these boards at siggraph? I even tried to get my friend in LA who works for activision to go down there and check it out, lol.

I’m about to lose my frickin mind. Seriously. Time to give us some news Pixo.

Let me get this straight. We don’t have a single man or woman on the floor down there in LA? We need eyes on booth 711. Can anyone make some calls and sort this out?

It just goes to show, Pixologic is staying true to their word. They’re not here to meet your deadlines or made up release dates but are here to build a solid/stable release, which we will all enjoy when ready.

Well, I’m back. Where’s the champagne and fireworks??? The exhibition has been open for 3 1/2 hours already, and you guys aren’t celebrating? …No news, huh?

Unbelievable, disgusting…but not unexpected.

Right Im going to go get drunk! Hopefully something happens!
