could it be the pixologic office only has pc’s and they are waiting to buy the new generation of mac computers so they can get started on the mac version?
To be honest, is pretty much game over now!
MB 2009 has texture painting and XSI 7 has ICE. Bye, bye Maya / Zbrush on OSX and hello XSI and Mudbox on a windows partition! Hurrah for bootcamp!
I cant see Maya 2009 topping XSI 7 and just plain cant see ZB on osx.
Well it seems very suspicious that it was removed altogether instead of being amended. Also why bother copying and pasting text from an old announcement when 99% of what was written was about this year’s Siggraph? Anyway, enough speculating from me. Siggraph is in a matter of days now so we will wait and see. If there is no news of a ‘new’ Zbrush then I certainly hope there’s good news about the mac side of things.
Well know… look at that.
Perhaps another copy and paste error?
Well there you have it…Zbrush 3.5 for PC and Mac (Intel??). Should be interesting to see what new features there are. Maybe I should have held on to my old PC.
…or I can buy a cheap PC with my refund and eh, might as well get mudbox then
Good find. A little surprised that it is leaking out in this way, but it better mean good news for us and FAST too. I don’t want a release date, I want a link to DL on the first day of siggraph!
So from these two leaks we can assume there is a Zbrush 3.5, but neither has said anything about Mac or OSX. PC-only is still a possibility.
This rigid secrecy by Pixo is so ridiculous. Lockheed’s Skunk Works doesn’t do it better.
Where is Pixologic located, by the way, Area 51?
320 W 31st St., Los Angeles, CA, United States
Anyone live nearby, and willing to drop in and say hello?
I was hoping this was the case all along. But I still will believe it only when Pixologic confirms it.
The possibility of PC only is still there of course, but the fact that it’s saying there’s a point upgrade release suggests the reason behind the long delay.
Well if it’s PC only with the mac version to ‘follow’ then they will be ahead by 3 versions (4 if you include 2.5), and that will suck even more than the situation we are in now
I have a pretty good source that says there will be a siggraph announcement and additional features so the two posts that leak 3.5 are probably accurate (meats and the other one).
Edit. Rather than being coy let me give you the full story.
I sent an email a few weeks ago to the two founders and the CEO of Pixo (I got their email addresses from the web site. The gist of my email was to reinforce how unhappy we are about how this release has been handled, particularly from a communication standpoint. My business is client service (advertising) so I know how difficult it is to manage expectations but I also know the power of open, honest communication. Anyway, I got an email back last night that resulted in a phone call. During that call I was told that there would be a siggraph announcement about the mac release, that there would be more features or added features (sounds like 3.5 or 4 or something) and there was even mention of announcing here before Siggraph. Not much but i hope that helps a little.
By their track record we are looking at a 2010/2011 Mac release unless they come up with another Windows version or two.

I hope that even Pixologic won’t be that cruel.
As it is with the amount of time I have not been able to use ZBrush I have forgotten so much it will be like starting a new program even if it was available today.

Let’s face it. We are so far behind the PC guys, and we just keep losing more ground everyday.
Thank you but we’re already informed about that…Check at the previous posts.
yeah…i KNOW…tis yummy in it?
Wow, awesome information. This makes me feel all warm and fuzzy again towards Pixologic. I will look forward to getting some more solid information at Siggraph which I will be going to on Weds. Yippee!
