Mac & Zbrush 3 Thread

Yes! Absolutely!

I hope we all have something to be happy about now, and let’s dump this thread and move on! We’ll have our hands on it soon enough!

Someone start a new thread!! ‘ZB3 for Intel Mac’!!

Yeah, baby!

I’m Michel from Luxo. i have no access to your new thread … Why ?

My replies aren’t being posted. Why?

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG!!! I think I just wet myself!!! Remember, the force will be with you always!

No idea, I can’t see it either, looks like it’s been removed!??

Edit, nope it’s been moved to the Questions and troubleshooting forum. You should be able to access it there.

It’s going to be a long month, then a long 3 months!

I’m sure 3.1(2?) will run nicely on 64 bit Leopard, plus I’m upgrading from 2 gigs to 8. I have a speed doubling performance jump to look forward to, as well as convenience! Bring on the polygons, Pixologic!

Then there’s new features around the corner with 3.5! Really no telling what tricks they have up there sleeves. Remember, they just introduced subtools in 3.0, not that there useful or anything… Hopefully, there will be even more revolutionary ideas revealed in December!

Here comes Santa Clauze…

Theres no mention of Zmapper included in Zbrush 3.12 for OSX. I hope that it IS included…pretty important imo

Not complaining creeper, but awhile back Aurick said the mac users would be getting “something extra in the way of goodies” and I don’t see anything different in the specs.

So although the release date of September is awesome, I was HOPING that us mac users would have been given a little something EXTRA in the way of a new ZBrush feature or something. Still very disappointed in the company though and I still feel like we deserve a little extra for the wait! I also don’t think Pix should be bragging about this mac release when it should have come 1 1/2 years ago.

Now, you see, remember when I suggested we all regroup and relax? Good things come to those who simmer down.

Yeah, should have come a year ago, should have done this or that, woulda shoulda, coulda. Yesterday is gone my friends. Gonna drag out the funeral longer?

Moving on and up. We’re back in the game.

Wow, I still can’t get over how some people are so easily satisfied… Just because they’re announcing it doesn’t mean they’ll actually deliver it (haven’t we gone through this before?). When they deliver then you can celebrate. For you all you know they could just be making false announcements to drag it on longer.

I am still sceptic until I have the software installed on my mac.

Sometimes the dreams can be true.

Now to lean in native platform.

Not half as long as it would have been, now that we finally have some official news on a Mac version with a release date. And, right after I had finally given up all hope, too! (I just hope they are able to deliver as scheduled.) I tell you, coming back here for more than a year, or so, checking several times every single day, just to see if there is any news at all, and with no word, was really wearing me out. This news is a welcome relief!

I tell you, coming back here for more than a year, or so, checking several times every single day, just to see if there is any news at all, and with no word, was really wearing me out. Me Too!

And that’s exactly why this announcement doesn’t cut it for me. I still feel they owe us a lot more than ZBrush 3.0, because that’s all it is is 3.O. They call it 3.12 but there’s nothing new in the list they posted so waiting over a year and a half and nothing extra, only what was promised to us from the very beginning.

once you’ve installed it and tried it out you can be 100% certain there’s nothing extra in it…

pixologic continue to release only the minimum amount of details on 3.12
and most probably that’s cos of the imminent release of mudbox2009 which is due to ship in october 2008

at last we’ve moved from a ‘soon’ to an ACTUAL DATE :+1:

why it took em ALL friday to upload some text i really don’t know

They had to port the text code from PC to Mac format.

I honestly don’t know how I’m supposed to feel right now. Though, I’m relieved, I’m not totally over this whole situation, believe me. It’s been a very long year+ for sure. And, last night, I nearly lost it I was so angry that they seemed to be taking their own sweet time with the announcement. I don’t know why they put it up so late in the day. Maybe they had a good reason, or maybe they just really enjoy seeing us tortured. Who knows? I could dwell on all the lost time, all the lost opportunities, and all the catching up I have to do. I’d also be surprised if Pixologic ever acknowledges that mac users were given the short end of the stick for too long. If I think about all the crap, it will ruin my mood. Right now, I’m trying to enjoy the long weekend, get some fresh air, start watching my ZBrush 3 video tutorials, get some much needed R&R, and then think about what projects I want to do when I finally get my hands on ZBrush 3. I’m trying my best to look forward. That’s where I’m at at the moment, anyway.

Funny!

Pure speculation, but most developers have a code freeze period. Where nobody checks in any changes, for a week, or two etc In theory it is the release candidate of the code unless someone finds a major issue during the freeze.

It’s conceivable Pixologic was waiting for the freeze period to wrap up friday without issue before making any commitment to a release date etc.

Haha! Hilarious…

I’m just glad we don’t have to wait until December, very surprising. Obviously, this project was some kind of monster for Pixologic, so congratulations to the team on successfully pulling it off! Don’t be too hard on them, the delays represent the obstacles they had to overcome. Or do whatever you want, I don’t care…

…well, until the 29th then…

Hope to see some of you on the top row! Peace!
