Mac & Zbrush 3 Thread

I’ll believe it when I have it in my hands(or my hard disk, whatever).
And I believe an apology is necessary.
Did they release 3.12 for mac just so they can charge for the 3.5?
I’m sorry but that’s what terrible PR does.

My friend… I WILL NEVER defend pixo till they change but in justice, i mean really being fair and in my opinion they are giving me a free update from two to three and that is a full release, if they want to charge for 3.5 i wouldn’t object. But i would take pretty well if i get it for free.

These guys had busted their bottoms and paying for that is not bad PR

I am angry too with their PR and everybody who had the power to speak and kept silence but i couldn’t be angry for someone chargin for their work (wich is fantastic)… I do it as well.

Regards.

You maybe didn’t notice it but they made the delivery day customized just for me : THANK YOU PIXO

The Mystery of St. Michael’s Day

St. Michael’s Day is celebrated in the Catholic, Lutheran, and Anglican churches on [COLOR=Red]September 29th, and in the Greek church on November 8. The different dates have to do with changes from the Roman to the Julian and Gregorian calendars.

So, who is St. Michael? As one of the seven archangels named in the Old Testament, he is mentioned in the book of Daniel as a “great prince” and protector of God’s people. Icons of Michael in other churches often depict him as a young warrior, dressed in armor. This is because he is also mentioned in the New Testament book of Revelation, Chapter 12, when he leads the angels in a heavenly fight against the devil. Not surprisingly, in the Middle Ages we find Michael was the patron saint of knights.

The Catholic church believed Michael to be the one “designated to lead the souls of Christians to God’s judgment seat,” and he was considered the patron of the Germans, “der deutsche Michel.”

It is an example of an old custom that has continued to survive simply because it has become a tradition.

Excuse my ignorance.
What make this different than 3.1 other than it runs on OSX?
I thought there were some talk of “goodies”?

You may maybe prefer to wait until next december for 3.5 ?
Not me ! I take it as is …

But wait a minute … I hope this OSX version is not for december even if announced for sept 29!

Yup, nothing new. Just the same as ZB 3.0 IMO. Nothing exciting here!

Well, for me is “goodie” enough to lay my hands on it.

Even if pixo had anounced instead that they were only capable of releasing 1.5b to intel macs that would be sweet for me to

Seriously “as is” is more goodie than there is not and i wont talk.

So if you are a mac user who can´t touch a pc like me (mostly because im so spoiled with my mac that i can´t understand windows logic (if any)) then this is almost as good than when that doctor said “its a boy”

I am a happy soul (still furious but happy) I remember my son when he was one year he hit his mouth in a table and started crying desperately, i faked i was a monkey to get him to forget the pain… He started laughing but he couldn’t stop crying and this is exactly how i am… super happy and in the same intensity and time really pissed off. Weird! perhaps my x chromosome?

yeah these are the same features, it will be interesting to see if the stroke palette is more functional for the mac version.

Do you think the Mac version, being 3.12, will have bug fixes over the PC version. Like the resymmetry center line problem, appending subtools then doing a transfomation from the tools causes a crash, smooth UVs while dividing is lost through various means that makes it near impossible to transfer polypaint to smooth uvs, etc.

Congratulations Mac-ophiles!

And to those who still find something to complain about…you got the same thing us PC’ers have. We shall wait together for 3.5 in December.

BTW…GG Pixologic and thanks again for everything Aurick - I don’t envy your position on these boards brother.

Edited as there are enough posts that do state zbrush 3.5 will be free to pc and mac users.

In case anyone doubts this, take a read of this thread again.

Cant wait to get going finally.

Good grief! What’s that strange cracking sound? Must be hell freezing over…

My new 8-core is prepped and ready for Sept 29th. But I must say I feel sorry for PPC owners who can’t afford - or don’t feel the need - to upgrade. Pretty much left out in the cold after all this time waiting.

I’ve too been furiously pissed for a long time now but I have to say that even though it still tastes bitter it actually feels fantastic to finally be able to see the light with the releasedate for ZB3 for OSX.

Considering the time it has taken for Pixo to release this and the .02 versionnumber over the PC-version I think we will see a release that is much more solid than the ZB3.1 for PC.

I definitely understand the disappointment for you guys that were hoping to see a 3.5 announcement, but for me personally, this will be like gold in the meantime.

Finally I’ll be able to work (in a proper manner) again! Woohoo!

I’m going to be upgrading my laptop with the next revision, so do any of you know the answer to this:

I know I get a free license transfer (ZB3 Windows -> ZB3 Mac). If I do that, and then in 4-6 weeks I buy a new laptop, what’s the cost to transfer the license again (old laptop -> new laptop)?

I’ve been trying to decipher if… as a MAC Zbrush 2 owner… who registered to get a WIN copy of 3.1 to run in emulation… if i need to register again… or pay to transfer back to OSX… or if I have to do nothing… and i will just get a DL link on September 29 to OSX 3.1? :qu:

I asked more or less the same question in the registration support forum, Aurick’s reply was that he wasn’t sure how it was going to work with Mac users temporary Windows licenses but he recommended that I fill in the form for the ZB2 to ZB3 upgrade again just to be on the safe side. So that’s what I’ve done, can’t hurt anyway! I didn’t ask about any cost of switching back to Mac but since the Windows license was described as temporary I’m 99% sure there will be no charge.

Here’s my thread. and the page to upgrade from ZB2 to ZB3 is here

Thanks, BazC … i was thinking re-registering could be the safest too… so I’m back in the system… not a sticky note on someones desk

You’re welcome!

I guess this thread will be taking a walk to the elephants graveyard, not a moment to soon either! Something I am sure we are all happy about.

I don’t see anything about Zmapper in Zbrush 3.12 for OS X. Will this be included?
