Mac & Zbrush 3 Thread

Thanks so much, James! You got from it exactly what I was trying to convey. I was really trying to get the alignment of the arms to flow properly.

When you get to be my age you’ll realize (if you haven’t already) that it’s ALWAYS the woman taking the man by the hand and leading the way.

Oh, and just kidding about the hammer and chisel thing. It was done in three different pieces of 3D software, and PS CS3.

james, i do content creepier than that! just meant “eww” but in a good way

a couple other great threads for u (thank u frenchy!):

Hmmm, digital painting in ZBrush, huh? Nice!

I’ve seen stuff like that before from ZBrush, but as a Photoshop/Painter lover, I doubt it could compare. Aside from the power of layers and adjustments, it could be close, though. I’ve done some touch up with the deco brush, though, so there are some things ZBrush has that they don’t.

Hey, thanx for the other threads! I guess some of those are just in the community threads, since that one has mostly art rage stuff and not zbrush. I have a whole slew of stuff I can post, it’s almost out of hand…

(…and eewwwww in a good way is definitely the reaction I’m looking for once this is finished, so thanx!)

you’d be surprised. pshop has a lot of great stuff but zb is a blast to paint in!

edit: yeah we love artrage too! cali is a blast to kick back and relax with!

A lisa was required to write programs for the 128K 1984 Macintosh. I remember it well. I liked the cool built in screen dimmer.
I know I am ancient but I started with a Sinclair ZX80. They had a 1K and a 2K model and a 16K RAM upgrade. No disk drives just a cassette tape drive. Try writing a program and running it in 1K now.

My first experience with a computer was at school in the early seventies. We spent an entire term creating ‘basic’ programs we barely understood that would do a simple piece of arithmetic. These we toiled away at, entering the information into punched-tape machines, and then onto massive punched card machines that looked for all intents and purposes like industrial lathes. At the end of the term, we were allowed in to the hallowed glass room with the single terminal. out came the jewel of an answer…‘10’. Can’t remember the name of the computer, but it probably had less memory than the chair I’m sitting on !

wow you pack rat! great stuff!

ha ha michel excellent post!!!

Okay… might as well post some old timer pics while we continue to wait:

Love the old Newton/Apple logo by Ronald Wayne. Note that the Apple-1 had a MOS6502 processor. The very same one used in the C64.
Also note that the Apple-1 originally did not come in a case of any kind. Early adopters were required to build that themselves.

ha ha!! notice the exclamation marks when they state that it can have up to 32Kb of ram!!!

[Apple ] forever… bringing the rainbow to you!

Gotta love that 1980’s vibe.

OMG–now THAT was hilarious! Such an upbeat and positive song. I want that as my alarm clock…every day I’d wake up so PUMPED!!!

Seriously, my favorite part is the flag animation they show a couple of times. It’s so basic, but you know it took someone forever to do.

Haha… great idea! It is indeed very upbeat and positive. (Brings a smile to my face every time I watch it  ). That’s why I figured it would be a good time to post it here. To perhaps lighten the mood a bit after this week’s riot.

Wow… That song was awesome, they needed to throw Rocky training in there somewhere. Corny, motivational 80’s music is hilarious.

I guess all PPC users are going to have to start putting some money aside to get an intel Mac. Hopefully the ZB3 upgrade will be free for ZB2 folks. This will help with putting money toward a new intel mac.

This demo rocks!

I like the price…

okay please know i’m not trolling or anything. but has anyone just decided to buy a pc and put a mac OS on it like in this link, wondering if that would help some people out somehow:
http://lifehacker.com/348653/install-os-x-on-your-hackintosh-pc-no-hacking-required/

spaceboy - putting osx on a pc is the same as running it on an intel except maybe cheaper. oh and it’s illegal. not that the police go around checking but…

[edit: forgot! great stuff lone deranger!]
