No. The serial number that you have is for ZBrush 3 for the PC. It will not work with 3.12 for the Mac.
Okay, well I’ve got my case no. email so I’m officially in the queue. 11:00pm here in the UK so off to bed in the hope that I can wake up and download Zb3.12 in the morning while the US is still asleep.
Very envious of new owners (curse you!) but I’ve got my 8-core, 4GB MacPro poised and ready to roll…

Frustrating
As all the pieces came together, we have two categories of people upgrading:
- Mac users who are already in the Cleverbridge system, either because they bought ZBrush 2 after we started working with Cleverbridge, or because they asked for a temporary PC license.
- Mac users who were never in the Cleverbridge system because they purchased through a reseller or purchased before ZBrush 3 was released for the PC.
The second type of user must be manually upgraded by our team. These are being handled based on the order in which you filled out the form.
The existence of the first path doesn’t slow down anyone on the second path. In fact, the fact that we have some customers who can be upgraded automatically speeds things up for everyone who requires a manual upgrade because that’s fewer people who need to be helped manually.

I bought Z2 for the PC before cleverbridge but also cross graded for the discounted price to the mac. I don’t think I ever requested a temp PC license when 3 came out because I already have my PC license…
if thats the case and I am in scenario 2, then I should be in the home stretch because I filled out the form nice and early… lol

Okay, at least this isn’t as bad as having to wait for December, which is what I originally thought.
I was hoping it’d come today. I have some time off work thanks to Chinese holiday. I also bought some tutorials from Digital Tutors. (I need to totally relearn ZBrush at this point)
Can’t install on my desktop either, since it’s an older G5. The other sad thing is I need to upgrade to Leopard. I was kinda hoping to avoid that for a while. Ah well, I suppose we have to suffer for our art.

at least that was my excuse, I went all out, bought a new mac pro, decked out the ram, put in new lic requests (forgot how long these can take), and now just waiting on zbrush =D
The bracket keys for the draw size are not working. I tried to use the hot key editor but it doesn’t seem to be working either. Is there a fix for this.
All I got was the error page when I went to download along with a message that I may get mine in a few days… What the hell!!

The bracket keys are a plugin. As a result, that is not in 3.12.
The hotkey editor does work in 3.12. It just works slightly differently. After clicking on the button that you wish to change, it is important not to move the mouse away from the button. If the mouse moves too far, ZBrush will assume that your Cmd+Click was a mistake and you didn’t actually want to change hotkeys at all. It’s a safeguard against accidental changes.
The bracket keys for changing brush size are accomplished through a plugin that ships with 3.1. We have shipped 3.12 with no plugins at all because we want to have the opportunity to individually and thoroughly test them with 3.12 before making them available again.
All plugins that were officially released by Pixologic will be tested for compatibility. Once approved, we will make them available for the Mac. Wherever possible, plugins that aren’t currently compatible will be updated and then released.
It is NOT recommended to just copy plugins wholesale from 3.1 to 3.12. It is especially NOT recommended to make any changes to your ZData folder or its contents. Doing so can cause unexpected and undesired behavior in ZBrush.
