Mac OS X 3.12 Upgrade Support Center - Read Initial Post Before Posting

Aurick… I’d like to suggest that you spread around the idea of doing your registration system/downloads using the system that Unity uses. Unity is a 3D game engine and has just about the most unbreakable registration security I’ve ever encountered. I believe their system is called InterLok — PACE anti-piracy. It’s fast, efficient, and I’ve never heard of anybody encountering issues with it.

http://interlok.com

It seems that all users including myself who sent the email in yesterday before 4pm have not received anything overnight.

Aurick said he should be able to figure out what’s going on in a few hours. Hopefully the upgrades from yesterday get sent out soon and there are no more problems.

Interlok is great. Pro Tools systems use it to manage all their licenses. Each user has an online account to store licenses. They are extremely secure and easy to use.

Oh, I agree with you for sure. I’ve been waiting over a year, AND sent my upgrade registration in the same day the release was announced. Still nothing, other than a confirmation email back then.

Yeah, that’s not a good sign at all. It’s not giving me much hope for anything happening today, or tonight.

Hi Morbius! Another victim to share my frustration - it’s like a bunch of strangers who have been thrown into a lifeboat together, or stranded in the desert.

Our pain is our bond.

(sigh)

I sent my email to Mac3Support yesterday at 11am PST. Still nothing from "clever"bridge. . .

I hope this gets cleared up soon. It’s starting to get fairly frustrating.

LOL.

Well, I’m kinda just tryin’ to chill out over this. I know it’s frustrating for all of us, but I know that aurick is on top of the situation, and is doing everything he can well above and beyond the call of duty.

Can’t ask more than that, and none of this is HIS fault. I’m confident he’ll get all of this straightened out, hopefully before he, too, looses his mind.

At very best - and with a lot of wishful thinking - I figure nothing will happen for me until - at very best - tonight. As bunged up as things are, I kinda doubt it. I’m guessing more like next week.

Oh well. What else can I do? I’ve already done everything I can and need to, so there’s no sense in gettin’ my shorts all bunched up over it.

Regardless, there’s still pizza and beer tonight.

Hey we don’t KNOW it’s not his fault. He might have kicked the server plug out or something and not told anybody.

Or deleted a load of stuff, and blamed CleverBridge. I would…

Morbius,

i am with you. Just waiting and try to relax. For me some whisky and chili (superhot chili).
And yes i believe Aurick is doing all he can.

He hasn’t really directly blamed cleverbridge… that would be bad business. He’s being very diplomatic about it. But hopefully cleverbridge will either beef up their system and make it more automated and able to handle larger loads; or, pixologic will give them the boot and go with somebody else.

If something isn’t done to speed up this process, they’re going to have a crap-ton of people do deal with when they release 3.5 - since that will be for Mac and PC at the same time…

Nah, he wouldn’t do that. Well, to ME maybe!

I don’t understand this whole ‘Cleverbridge’ business. I don’t understand WHY they can only apparently do business at night! They can’t send out emails and links during the day? Their servers only function at night? Are they owned and operated by vampires or something?

I’m sure it doesn’t help that Cleverbridge is in Chicago, while Pixo is in LA.

I just simply don’t understand what their problem is, but I sure as heck hope they get all this trouble ironed out before the next release in December (assuming there really IS another one).

Well, it looks like the batch didn’t actually go out through the night, which isn’t Pixologic’s fault. Maybe they’ll be able to send it out today, they seem to favor late night link sending.

They probably like to send links at night now because fewer people are on then, which means that we’re less likely to crash their servers.

At this point though, I’d rather have an upgrade email that leads me to crashed server errors than nothing at all. At least then I’d feel like I was one step closer.

Because in the daytime he (the cleverbridge guy) drives a school bus and in the evenings he watches the Cubs game.

It clearly didn’t.

That’s what I don’t get. What the heck does it matter what TIME of the day they send out links?? Why do they have to wait until the middle of the night?

Doesn’t make ANY sense whatsoever.

Go to the cleverbridge site. You will see they are a German company with offices in Chicago. I think Germany is a different time zone.

Yup.

Even so, what difference does it make what TIME they send out links? The world is still turning 24 hours a day - so far anyway.

True, but the pixologic world turns much slower than ours.

Take into account that the WERE sending links out throughout the day yesterday, so who knows…
