Within this thread we get a picture of total failure, but what about those we are not hearing from. There are thousands, 5 figures, that are registered Mac users. While I was surprised that we have not had more users replying to these Mac related threads, for whatever reason, the current problem should have brought these people out to comment.
Coming out of the business, I can assume the following, maybe.
- Due to delays over the years, the bulk of the Mac user base has simply shelfed the product.
- We responders are indeed the only ones having the current problem, and thus forming an inaccurate picture of the situation.
I am surprised, although I may not have seen every posting, that those who have downloaded and installed with success, have not provided more screen shots or information on what they are finding. I would have thought that they would have poured data into us.
I am also surprised that the website portion of the company who traditionally does a fine job at marketing the product have not introduced the results of beta testing by the best and brightness ZBrushers. We should also be seeing more play up of the release, although this may be sitting in the wings until this surprise problem is corrected.
Now, while I also wait from my 2 Sept RSVP, the tension at Pix has to be at a critical point and while we want to be critical with our comments, the best thing we could do at this point is to provide helpful information. Yelling and screaming at someone who you are, at the same time asking help from is counter productive.
In the long run, this should make Pix a better player, should they sit back and review the entire picture once this immediate situation is resolved. Hopefully they will take the time to take a breath and look hard at the methodology that has lead to the last 2 years, especially before continuing with 3.5.
I am a registered user, but never used the program yet. Again coming from the business, I see what is and could continue to be an outstanding tool for years to come, regardless of the other players out there. If you truly believe in this product for your professional needs, lets start being supportive where we can, otherwise we may be the very element that destroys the product.
Just some thoughts from an old software developer, not a code writer, but an operation exec.
Aurick, take a breath, your a good man, and I approve of your current information presents. These people would not be so angry if they were not so totally consumed with your product.
