Mac News (Unofficial) (update on page 15)

I’d like to know if the new version of ZBrush for mac will be available as a clean install? I’ve just bought a new mac and I don’t really want to install v1.55 followed by v2 followed by v3 followed by v3.1 etc.

Houdini for mac sounds great. I was dissapointed when I learnt this software existed a while ago and it was just for PC. Excellent news that it’s coming to mac.

Helios2, to my knowledge Houdini is slowly becoming the first choice for visual effects. And it’s not made by Autodesk! Woohoo!

You just need some mac loven… (((((((((((HUH KISS))))))))))
Don’t fray it will be out an day.

I don’t think the development cycles are going to be this long in the future for mac versions. From what I’ve gathered from Aurick’s posts, Zbrush is going to be easier to develop now that Macs are intel. Z3 will probably be universal but Z4 will be intel-only (most likely). It’d be a nice surprise that the mac version we’re waiting for is Z3.1+

Whatever day it’s released will be a recurring event on my calendar.
I will pick up a bottle of Chimay on my way home

Has nobody here heard of the saying, " no news is good news"…

How about, “patience is a virtue”…

Aurick has always informed us of any progress, I’d guess his silence means there is no progress as yet…

I anxious to get my hands on ZB3 as much as anyone here but I would rather wait & have a solid release, than have a buggy rushed release now…

As I understand it, future releases of ZB will be easier for the Mac Intel version, but I kind of got the impression that the Mac release will be, PPC & Intel, not a Universal version. I may be wrong here but that’s the way I read it…

I’m hoping there’s been lots of progress, and that he just
can’t talk about it - though maybe he just doesn’t want too
because anything shy of it’s done is only going to agitate
the hungry gators (and vikings) in here

Adobe: 64-bit Mac Creative Suite apps won’t happen till v5.0

Adobe’s plans to deliver 64-bit Photoshop support as part of the upcoming release of its Creative Suite 4.0 software bundle for Windows PCs, but Mac users will have to wait till version 5.0 to see the same treatment.

Still love the MAC !

Good, you should-its not macs fault it’s so amazing. It takes developers extra time because they are distracted by its ease of use.

hopping on the thread for future updates!

Adam. Thanks for joining us, but FYI…

Please don’t start a message with “At Last :)”

It could start a riot. Getting the mob back under control would be

pretty tough. You will notice, no one risked their safety with a poorly

placed April Fool’s Joke. There would be very little humor in a virtual execution.

BTW, I just reinstalled Windows on my Mac…I couldnt take it any longer.

Going back to ZB3 on the otherside of the town.

Alonzo - sorry! - I have edited it out!

Just really wanting the app on home territory ya know!

Adam

that’s just wrong… pixo, you have to do something
soon, innocent people are being forced to use windows!

Indeed…

I think Aurick is doing a good job keeping us informed, given the constraints he must be under. As for his latest post, the “surprise” post, individuals can read into his words many different things, but what I suspect he’s trying to tell us (without actually telling us) is that the beta testers are finding fewer bugs than might normally be expected, and that these bugs are being fixed quickly and effectively.

In any work of art, which ZBrush is in itself, there comes a time when work must stop and the product be released, else you keep fiddling with it so long, trying to make it perfect, that it never gets released at all. Or, by the time you release it, it’s out of date. This is true in writing, which I know first hand, and especially true in graphic art. Work too long on a painting and you’ll lose all your “lucky accidents” and wind up with a mechanical looking mess that has no spirit.

Not that I’m hoping ZBrush 3.1 for Mac will contain any accidents!

Yes, here we go agian with Windows. I’m trying VMWare this time.

Still no happenings with Zmapper and OpenGL. If anyone has a good link I can DL and try to install again.

Have anyone noticed that “Control” for making masks doesn’t work properly?

Yeah it’s a hit and miss thing. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t. If you restart the program chances are it’ll work properly again

Blah, get a PC.

OR don’t hog a mac thread…

not kosher to come here:-)

I was just teasing, you Mac uthers are always tho thenthative.
