Ok so we have a new toy that was introduced to us this week and I thought, ya what the hey, time to explain what it is and does. Zapplink was not my most missed plugin, but I did use it every once and awhile, for masking. I even run it through a unexpected program to do a test drive on what could be done outside the box.
But ya anywho on with the show hope it helps you understand the process of using the thing;)

Ctrl+J (Duplicate Layer) As many times as you need.
With the Texture Above the Front Layer
Ctrl+E (Merge Layer Down)
It will retain the layer below, name. Saves you a step of typing anyway.
Photoshop CS2 Workflow:
1) Shift + LM To bring Texture into ZappLink File
Place Texture Above The Views created in ZappLink.
Front, Back, Right, Left ect.
2) Ctrl+J (To Duplicate the Texture)
Drag duplicate texture above next view. With the duplicate layer still selected Ctrl+J and continue the process for as many views as you need.
3) Ctrl+E (Merge Texture Layer Down)
In this example there are only Two Textures. This is what the layer order in PS should look like after you duplicate and place your texture.
Front ZShading (do not edit)
Layer 1 <Your Texture1> Ctrl+E (Merge Layer)
Front
Back ZShading (do not edit)
Layer 1 <Your Texture2> Ctrl+E (Merge Layer)

nice shortcuts sadicus I’m glad you posted these.
A hah so you can have a layer 1 in front of a multilpe projection. I was wondering why they made it all complex. That really saves a step in multiple projection workflows. and merge down is way better that dealing with the double clip two pixols to the left of the layer name and the blending options window poping up instead of rename.
I have also figured out you can make a Photoshop action the will take the texture and duplicate it 6 times and rename it for you;)
i am such a big fan of jason but now i cannot access most of his tutorials
the veoh tv just does not work well
other areas of tuts have been blocked to membership
free is nowhere to be seen
i had such a good time learning zbrush from jason welsh
i know nothing and everything does not come for free but this was helping me make and mend my career
i feel like crying though now longer can i download jason vids

Try using this method truth its way better. You need the player to download the video but you dont need the player to watch them . When you get to step 5 right click on the videos and open with windows media player.
Let me know if that is working for you. Do you live in a far off distant land somwhere, I’m pretty cheap on the membership. A cup of coffee at starbucks is more expensive;)

Hi, thanks for your tutorials, they are for the most parts really good (I’m on lesson 2 atm). I think you should add a warning though. Be sure to check through the entire lesson before starting or you will end up reproducing the same time-consuming errors the producer made! 
But you remember those mistakes dont you?
I don’t recall the mistake maybe the teeth masking? My younger students quickly picked up on the error if thats the one.
Legally I have to put a disclaimer in all my videos, it is in the corner of all my videos. But I usually place it in black ink so it does not scare the new 3D user.
I will highlight it here for the first time ever on national forum. Old users look away!

Hi Jason,
I just signed up last night, but some of the links are bad (I think). I couldn’t figure your contact info at the site, so thought I’d just post this here. The links for Directional and Linked Lighting are bad for example, and pretty much all the older Maya stuff. They all seem to point to a ‘membersonly’ folder and even though I signed up and have a password and all, I almost always get an error when the URL references that folder.
Anyway, due to health and other challenges, I’ve been out of ZBrush, etc., for so long a lot of what I used to know (and it was no big whoops then) has been replaced with a bunch of useless stuff, (and the newer 3.1 ZB throws me some too) so I’m trying to brush up again. But your tutorials look like just the ticket to get me back up and running (well, limping anyway). Pretty cool stuff! 
(Edit: I said I ‘almost always get an error when the URL references’ the ‘membersonly’ folder, but I have since realized that’s not true. A lot of those work fine, but when it comes to clicking on the old Maya video links … usually I get an error that no such file exists – and the ‘Light Linking’ and ‘Directional Lighting’ links point to the ‘membersonly’ folder, but the files are actually in the ‘lighting’ folder.)

Use explorer to access the site or update your firefox.
I heard older firefoxs don’t work to well even though the site is just plain html.

Hey everyone I am looking into why I am Not recieving updates via my email anytime sombody posts on the forum. For some reason the elf in charge of handing me my updates via email was assasinated somewhere between pixologic and my house.
I’m trying to fix the issue. Just know that I havent lost touch it is just been my radio has been out on my end.

I’m using FF 2.0.0.8 (latest version, as of last night)…and…I’m a nerd 
Eh, using the latest firefox is freezes, I thought it was my browser at home, but it happens on my browser at work as well. The thing is I use the same plugins/etc on both systems so it could be a plugin that’s interfering. (Maybe Adblock?). Being a nerd myself it pains to open up IE but so worth it.
I’ve learned tons from these videos and I cannot express my appreciation towards Jason for getting these out here. Without these videos, I’d have never figured out zbrush.
I am interested in the later videos but they are not found… is there a reason? I’m particularly referring to the one about texture baking (oh there’s other stuff in the title too heh).

Half of your tutorials are for 3.1, other half for 3.1, so what do you recommend to use? 3.0 or 3.1?
I downloaded Veoh tv, but it keeps asking for an upgrade before I can download your tutorials, when I do that, it uninstalls!! Then I install, try to download tutorial, can’t, try to upgrade, …

Once again I would like to apologize to my members for my host keeps shutting my site down for some reason. Over the past 3 years since I have made the house I have had to put up with this and many other things. Many of the members here know this and remember those dark times.
