fun with zbrush

thank you tm. yes it was really fun to create.
thank you peter konig. i am a fan of your work, what great pleasure to me that you comment in my thread.

Great sculpting work, idea, implementation - as always, Doris! But aren’t the eyes a bit unfocused? I can be very wrong, as my eyes are certainly unfocused.

paul marx, the eyes were intentional. is it not the way young women look, namely unfocused, when they are so absorbed in chatting in their iphone or similar?

I see now! Thanks! Great observation! I am an old guy, and the young girls do look unfocused when they look at me, or better say through me. It is very sad…

I have nothing to say but I want you to be up.

@Doris
You always know how to carve wood. :+1:
You could post some side views, I have seen some and they look even better.

paul marx hey, thank you for that
michalis, sure it gives a better view how she looks all around, thanks for suggest. ok, here you go

mealea, so you did love that too as a girl

Lovely!

Fun project from the weekend you say?!!
Hanging out with adorable caterpillars when you should be resting.

A most cheering design it is, with lovely spacing.
You’ve spaced all the divisions of the scene elements such that it also forms a lovely abstract as well as a cheery representation.
Chubby , spiky and with whiskers that would tickle - yes please.

Two weeks of leaf rest for you Blender Bug.

Lovely sculpting !
However, where is the SSS in cycles render?
You need a lot of it for caterpillars and plants.
(reference?)

rory, thank you
boozie, thank you for your poetic words, very appreciated by this blender bug (hehe, if this is not an honor)
michalis, thank you. oh, there is sss, actually the shader is glossy mixed with sss and nothing else… my main reference was this see, this is quite a different quality than the caterpilar you reference. much is of light of course, as always with sss… putting more size on sss would have made the detalis blur away, always a struggle with shaders that have sss…

Really like the 3d effect and you are playing the Zbursh like very much.

Yes, the reference you used, I had a look before posting. Not a great image, caterpillars need some more SSS, small creatures eating all day you see.

as always with sss… putting more size on sss would have made the detalis blur away, always a struggle with shaders that have sss…

If we’re talking about cycles, this is true. However, you have a nice trick there. Control SSS mix by “pointiness>coloramp”. Miracles happening.
