fun with zbrush

thank you lexxx, yes this was intention

Wundervolle Pose! Sehr gut modelliert! :+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

Ciao,
TM

fantastic!

ah, danke mein freund
thank you, pixel tofu

This is a very strong piece!
Congratulations.

Hi Kokoro, wow! This is really exquisite in every way! Bravo!

all the best, David

knacki thank you!
david, always a pleasure when you visit my thread, glad you enjoy what you see

WOW Doris.
What a development. !! By all means.
You can construct a shader with a second cavity sensitive shader, or you can bake the cavity for exporting.

yes, indeed, michalis, since you made me aware of my mistakes, i was able to learn. thank you so much for that!
yes, there are actually two different cavity masks in the shader, one of them with tight settings made the creases in the mane come out wonderfully, the other is very faintly visible, and supports the bigger “creases” for example you can see it in the fold on the body that comes from the horse bending (so the body is stretched on the other side)… i like to keep these effects very subtle, but it is better with them than without…

What is happening Doris? We had enough with these physically correct renderers?
They still show the truth you know. But, why should we care? A render can be considered as a 2d art after all.
Using SSS marble I learned a lot about sculpting, I think so. In a virtual environment… LOL
For the moment my wacom is off, it served well for ~5 years. Searching for a better one now. Costs a lot.

oh, this horse is rendered in cycles, i meant that i prepared the cavity masks in zbrush, then exported them to blender for setting up the material…
5 years only? i have 2 wacoms, a graphire that is almost 15 years and still works fine (replaced the tips several time though), and a newer bamboo, it has better pressure sensitivity… yes, get a good one, they are worth …

So this is a cycles render. Quite unexpected. It looks like BPR, really.
No GI there? Did you turn off bounces? At 0?

bounces are at standard, so 8 in the general, and 128 in the specific slots… no environmentmap here, and also not much environment that can make bounces… the background sloped plane is quite dark, and the stand too… i liked the simpler here. i tried environment map, but did not want it… so, yes, maybe we both have something we like about bpr in moment… its the roughness at ba- forum, i guess

Beautiful horse, kokoro. Has a nice solid weight to it, and I really like the twist of the head and neck.

thank you nyxia, yes the pose i am proud of  it was quite a trying to get it exactely like i wanted…

a sculpt based on amphitrite by jacque prou… work in blender and zbrush, zbrush new zremesher did an awaesome work on this!! 25 million polygons, rendered in cycles in 6 minutes each image… i post here only two, more, and larger resolution are on my blog post amphitrite

Wonderful renders.
I think she needs stronger legs. More volume down there.
But, for some reason, I find the top more interesting than the Jacques Prou’s original.

thank you, michalis… what do you mean by “need stronger legs”, is this your taste, or are you saying they are anatomically wrong?.. yes, i did not copy, only took prous as inspiration, i wanted make it my own, how i like it

My taste, on women ? LOL
No, I mean more volume there. On the knees. From a more abstract perspective.
