fun with zbrush

thanks david, yes this little creature was really fun to do, glad you enjoy it too… lol,you can do everything without mature sign, if you do it abstract enough … for inspiration, look in michalis thread (the museum scene thread), what he recently created looks like a spaceship and approaching a spacestation at first glance , but second glance … lol … still no mature sign is needed, as its your own fantasy when looking…lol … abstracts are wonderful to work with, yes i enjoyed this one too, might pick up the idea later again…

Hi Kokoro

Really enjoying the older woman sculpture… Great job there :+1:small_orange_diamond:)
I am thinking that it might even be enhanced further with a little experimenting with BPR on it…Maybe focus on the center of the face with sharp lighting, and a softer lighting as it receeds from the center of the face,…with the main focus on her eyes…windows to her experiance of a long life…Just a couple of thoughts that might be useful to you…who knows…

Glenn

hi glenn, thanks for the input. yes, it is a good idea for lightning, and i will try ,but not on this lady anymore, i like to move on. i definitely will try on a new portrait, i like the idea

back to figure studies… i used the basic figure that came with zbrush as a basemesh, sculpting done in zbrush, rendered in blender with cycles… still learning,

Excellent sculpt. :+1:

thanks, philuxius

Excellent study indeed.
I’ll keep it as a reference.
:+1:

,but please, also look other references, since i still spot lots of errors…lol… thanks michalis, really appreciate that

Hi kokoro, I mentioned this sculpt on my thread but also wanted to say how much I liked it here as well.

Do you render a lot with Cycles? I have to give Blender another look.

Cheers,
David

hi david, that is very nice of you, thank you  … yes, all my work now is rendered in cycles. it is awesome, plus i like that you can set up “lamp objects” like in a foto studio, so you really see where the light source is. that is a point i never learned in zbrush with these spheres where you move the lights on, but you dont see where the light is wrt to the object you want lit… blender is definitely worth a second try, i think blender and zbrush together are wonderful combo

i like to share my holiday fun with you… model and texture in zbrush, scene set in blender, rendered with cycles…

Hi Kokoro,

Very nice work!

Cheers, David

thanks, david…it is fun to do a quick projet from time to time. really enjoyed doing this…

Hey,
Nice one!
Did you export a separate cavity map or just painted as texture in zbrush?
Or, did you bake dirt directly in blender?

all the “dirt” is handpainted painted in zbrush. but, yes, i exported cavity and ao map from zbrush to use in blender for driving the factors of specular etc. in the material. thanks for looking

Happy New Year To You !.. and a a nice slimy Octopus to boot , yum thems good eatin… Deke

oh! i never thought on eating octopus, but then tastes are different, happy new year to you too, deke!

Always on the grill. The best.
Happy new year Kokoro, Deke.

That octopus had me thinking it was made of ceramic till I looked a little closer!
grrr… gotta learn blender…

Nice work, also octopus are extremely intelligent and completely self aware, its like eating the guy down the street, or your local Greek sculptor who owns a grill… (Grinning at Michalis!!!)

mealea, yes its like eating the local guy to me too that idea, lol… yes learn blender, it is complex programm, i only can manage only a small part of it, too. but its worth every effort. just concentrate first on a few things. rendering with cycles was my main interest, so i picked that first (after i learned how to import from zbrush)…

michalis, lol, not to me, i would not try eat octopus, or animal whatever…

here is a new, inspired by your latest portrait busts michalis, mine took 60 minutes modeling, and 3 hours fiddling in blender with lights and material until i got what i wanted…lol…

happy new year to you too, michalis and mealea
