So you took it further.
A good one!
(btw, we have a very good cycles - normal maps support now, just try the newer mac version in graphicall)
tonare, yes, trying to marry “abstract with portrait”. thanks for commenting
hi deke, nice to meet you again…glad you enjoy the cyclops, he was so very different from my usual work, it was good to stretch the wings, so to say…
michalis, yes i did was fun, and actually am thining more about it… oh, i was not aware there is a new macbuilt, thanks for the pointer, will try it
pushing the previous portrait to be more abstract… this consists of cubes only
Is it particles - duplis (blender) or zb fibers?
none of these, Michalis, its cubes placed by hand, one by one, in zbrush this is easy like drawing with cubeinsert brush.
Really enjoying these last to posted Kokoro…You are on to something really nice here…small_orange_diamond:)
Glenn
very cool work. its differnt but in a good way. keep rollin.
adam
hi glenn, so nice to meet you again … yes, these were very free, explorative, after the hard work of creating the actual portrait first …lol…thank you for stopping by, makes me happy
thank you adam, yes for sure this is a quite different approach for me, and i like it too
Very cool abstract representation of an organic form, nicely done …Deke
thanks deke, yes it is a beginning, it invites for more exploration actually,
i like it!!
thank you lvxifer
this took quite some time to get right, basemesh done in blender, then sculpted in zbrush, accesories done in blender. rendered in cycles, postwork in photoshop… i hope you enjoy, even old ladies
Very well done creation, love the character lines in the face
thank you deke, yes, i tried to not just put lots of detail, but capture the mood and character of ines with all the detail. glad you noticed
and, once again, a quite unusual topic for me… i was inspired by a friendly alien i saw at the blenderforum… modeling this time in blender, textures and specularmaps painted in zbrush…
Nice one.
How many poly?
Renderer? BPR? BI?
thanks michalis, its around 400 000 polygons. rendered in cycles, and postwork in photoshop…
This aquatic guy is great. The only crit I have for it is the vertical line of the reflection map going through the middle of his eye. Other than that this doesn’t need touched.
thank you arthaven, hmm that line, i dont thnk its the reflection map, since that is a hdri environmentmap, that is tilable, so to say. i was thinking its the reflection from the “nose” of the creature, that would make sense from the position of lamps and that the eye sits pretty far isolated… but i check, thanks for telling me
Hi Kokoro,
I like the little creature a lot! I am also intrigued by the bust done in cubes … I have thought about trying “Nude descending a staircase” with abstract shapes. Then of course I would have to use a Mature Content tag.
All the best,
David
