next torso, female and posed, i have taken an image from boulp’s skechbook as reference… so inspiring his work
Very nice studies! Keep it up
thanks wandddo. yes thats the plan
Nothing more i said before!
again a male torso… concentrated on muscles this time…
great sculpt i hope to see more from you
thanks 3d-user…yes, you will, my studies just began, so much too learn
Great studies!
Too anatomical but you need it, I guess.
To group all this knowledge to simple effective abstract forms, well, this is The Challenge. I never had some success on this.
You will do it, I believe so. Keep the good working.
yes, you are absolutely right, michalis, these are way too anatomical… i feel however, that i need to go this way, and once i know enough about anatomy of body, i can loosen up and express what i wish, as with the portraits… thats the plan, anyway, we will see if it works, lol… and, thanks for the pm, and the links, very helpful
i took a break from the anatomy studies, and sculpted this portrait of the young man peter rubino is modeling in his book portrait in clay… was really fun to do …sculpt is pure dynamesh, no subtools, rendered in cycles…
the goal with this sketch was to loosen up, and create correct anatomy without making “anatomy the topic of the sculpt” … if that makes sense… the sculpt is still a sketch, left many things unfinished on purpose, but i hope the dynamic is convincing (and the antomy too) … constructive critique welcome…
Great job Kokoro …Really liking the motion and flow in this last figure posted.
Above is a link to a thread that might be of use and inspiration to you in the studies that you are doing with anatomy…Her work is great, and an interesting read also as she struggles with different aspects of anatomy and capturing what is important in depicting volumes, flow, rhythm ect while depicting the human form.
Keep up the great progress Kokoro
Glenn
very nice sculpts…but i find the shoulders are too wide apartbut keep it comeing
hi 3d-user, yes i see what you mean, i think i messed the shoulders of this poor guy completely i wanted round the shoulder part on back, and somehow i lost the bones, it seems. … thanks for the input. glenn, wow thank you for this link. she is amazing, i have only looked some posts until now, but already seen that there is lots of interesting works to learn from. thanks a lot for pointing me to her thread :-)ni bookmarked it
…of my favourite actor, can you guess ?
(4 hours sculpting a dynamesh sphere (plus subtools for jewelery), some problems caused by the mesh are visible, but it was a study, an exercise to quickly capture likeness, so i leave it as that)
Audrey Hepburn?
nice!!!
Maybe she had sligthly bigger eyes?
yes ! audrey … and yes, her eyes were big, not sure though if mine look smaller since there is no iris… thanks the hint, i will check
yes, study of anatomy, still learning the torso, and also learning modeling in blender… i hope to combine the strengths of zbrush and blender, one day…
Interesting solution on torso!
Curious, have you tried blender sculpting mode?
I found it equally effective for meshes under 1-2 M .
No dynamesh of course but better than zspheres skin modifier.
