Ezra52 Sketches- Nudity? Maybe Later

EZRA, the truck is coming out beautiful. Man, looks like I can just reach into the screen and grab it. I am liking the colour too (thats a cool deep red. Would be awsome if it could be rendered with little gold flakes in the paint). The trim and seals around the windows came out just great, so ‘smooth’. I am sure using lightcap on this truck to render with is (or can) do it some justice at the end. As usual, keeping an eye on ya-

Thanks Dragon. I still have to learn about lightcap and all the rendering stuff. But I do want to get all that figured out sometime.

Rebuilt the bed and added wood.

Have fun Zbrushing all.

The fiber stuff folks are making look very cool. I didn’t realize that it was going to be so versatile. Very cool.

That’s coming along nicely!

yeap. it really start looking good.

Dave and Lepra - thanks so much.

Added a tailgate and started some of a chassis.

Good Zbrushing to all. I’m loving seeing all the great fiber and micro mesh stuff. The trees are amazing.

Lookin’ good Ezra! :+1:

awesome progress ezra!!!
keep it up!

:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1: colors and wood floor in #61 look great together !!

I like that render too Gary. Too bad I was just playing around with the lightcap settings and didn’t save :). Unfortunately, I doubt I’ll ever be able to get back to it again.

Thanks so much Zber2 and wethand. I appreciate you guys taking a look see.

Ezra

Almost done with this one. Need to put in the tail lights and a rear Bumper. Getting a little bored with it though.

But I have refreshed my memory about using many of the Zbrush features after a long lay-off and gotten a chance to use some of the new stuff.

Views with perspective on.

Looking really good. you should make a fast BPR render with floor and prespective so we can see the car in its full glory

Edit: i saw the Floor… its under the car. you know how to fix it?

Thanks Lepra for the nice comment. No, I don’t really know how to raise the floor.

Nice Car!
i can’t wait to see more.

Totally awesome one-seater.

Just Playing with the lighting/rendering a little. Oh and the Expose feature. Fun Stuff. I can see I have a boatload to learn about rendering and I have no idea what folks mean when they say “I did the post production in Photoshop”.

Thanks Shepard and 3point14. I think your right 3point14 the truck seems a little narrow to me too. I worked off of an image on a plane to try and get the size right but I didn’t quite pull it off apparently.

A few details for those that might be interested. There are 84 subtools and 10,766,423 polies. It took about 3 1/2 to 4 weeks to build.

cool job on the exploded view !! love that stuff !!:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

The truck turned out beautifully, Ezra! Yeah the body is a bit narrow, but that gives it more originality in my opinion. I’ve given a minor shot at a couple of cars in Zbrush, but while I’m getting better at the sharp edged stuff, I can’t seem to get the rounded shapes for work like yours. Any tips for us poor noobs?

Hi Gary and Voodoodad. Thanks for taking the time to check out the build and for the nice comments.

Voodoodad-I’m actually also a Zbrush noob - I got the program when Zbrush 4 was released and had about 4 to 5 moths to try and learn the program and then try and make something then I went away for 9 months to worki and didn’t get to use the program at all during that period. I just got back and stated this project a few weeks ago. Prior to getting Zbrush I had just a small amount of experience with Blender. Building the bicycle, seen at the beginning of this thread, after I 1st got the program helped me to learn the interface and many of the tools. I do hard surface stuff for now because I know nothing about anatomy to try characters and I’ve never had any artistic training. Anatomy is on my LONG list of things to learn to further my explorations in CG. I also don’t know zip about texturing, working with the materials/shaders, the lighting the rendering or working in an image manipulating program like Photoshop or Gimp to do any compositing. So much to learn, so little time. Fortunately I like to learn new things.

As for how I got the smooth shapes, I just found a good side image of the truck, put that on a plane subtool then masked off the cab/front fender/hood on that image and did a thick extraction. From there, as you see in my posts numbered 22 and 24, I just used the deformation tools to widen that initial block out, masking to pull out the front fenders (also with the deformation > size) some dyna-meshing (that smooths things out), using the move brush and smooth brushes here and there (always with symmetry on so that the two side of the truck looked about the same). That’s really about it, just working at it with those tools until the shape seemed about right. During that process I also set up a front view of that kind of truck on a plane to get the width right (I thought). In retrospect, I think that there was a perspective issue with the ‘front of the truck’ image I used that I didn’t compensate for, causing the cab top to be narrower than it should be. Everything was just trial and error while I tried to get use to working in Zbrush again, after the 9 month lay-off, so I don’t really know any ‘tricks of the trade’ for you. I was just farting around with it all.

I know that isn’t very helpful or great technical information for you but I hope it helps a little. All I can really say is just give it a try, there is always ctrl-Z, lol. I looked back at your projects, it looks like you have a much better grasp on CG and Zbrush than I do. You’ve done some cool work.

Ezra

hi man I only want to ask, how do you make the translucency in zbrush the glass, I try but anything works

also and great chevy have you here
