IanTJamison: The lips have a reflection layer that gives that wet effect. But is only that, the face sss and the reflection layer

This blew my mind as well. It’s already hard to distinguish it from a real person. I wonder if they ever make a live action movie with one digital actor mixed in that people won’t be able to recognize from the cast. Or if there is one already I’d like to know about it.

what are your settings on the cavity mask?
so when rendering out different passes is it JUST the epidermal etc or is it with the overall on as well?

I use “Maya_TangentSpaceNode_BestQuality.zmp” in Zmapper fot both the normal and the cavity map.
For the passes, first setup the shader and then change only the weight values. The overall color is always mapped with the same texture in all the passes.
