-Red Sands Renders-
Rendered using Bpr for character and background elements composited in PS5
Maps original size 48" x 48" 6k render.
Well I’ve teased you all long enough, here are some images of Maps, an important character in Red Sands, completed and rendered in z4r3. Character and background elements were rendered out individually and composited in PS5 using all the BPR maps and several different materials to achieve the final look. This and many other prints will be available at the Calgary Expo, but you all get the first look. Crits and comments are always welcome…cheers and thanks for the continued support.
-Keep a weather eye here as you will be asked to choose from several new models, some which you’ve seen and some that are on the way, to have sculpted as the first full scale figure for this collection…be ready-
Great work, takes me back to the days of staring at my shadow of the beast box cover
Mothy thanks, it still is a great cover.
I love how the WORS characters read; their anatomy (I would love to see the skull of Maps), details like the hint of ornaments on the skin of the face, the clothes,…
I’m looking at them and a vivid world with it’s own history appears - more, please.
Thanks Etcher.
I will post a full body shot and some breakdowns, maybe a turn table if i can manage it.
Here is another look at upcoming characters for the World of Red Sands.
I will be posting further images and snapshots as the Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo nears.
I’ll be doing some Zbrush demo’s, giving away some Zbrush swag and selling prints of many of the characters you see in my threads.
Hope to see some of you there.

I would like to say your work is phenomenal. The kind of stuff i like to see. I was curious… is this stuff for a game your working on? Or is it just concepts for your portfolio?
sixto, thanks for your kind words. Red Sands is a project ive been wanting to complete for a long time, a Large scale multi disipline art project of creatures landscapes and stories centered around a world Ive created. All of it, including the stories are meant for gallery exhibition when there complete. I hope you enjoy the work as it all comes together.
cheers…
Wow, I saw first time this technique adopted in zbrush Very cool. I must try this out myslef.
As for your sculpts, Interesting idea with develping own world.
nebular, thanks very much. Im glad the process interest you it has worked out well for me so far. Third part will be up tomorow. I think its improtant to have a context for the characters and a setting which can drive some of your decisions about the figures as you sculpt them. cheers.
