Its been a while… ive been working away on WORS and decided to show a new Character WIP “MAPS”. this is a paint over of a BPR render out of Zbrush4 using the auto generated maps, had alot of fun with this one… now back to work.

Etcher, thanks for checking in, there hasn’t been much time to sit and just post these days. Materials are gathered armiture and sculpts have started to appear, it will be a long process but i am enjoying myself. i’ll post up some progress shots of Maps when he’s all done.

Looking very interesting, great design on his face and love his detailing on his chest/stomach area and his accessoires are great aswell, gentle but nice!

Hello Cameron, just ran across your post. Very cool what you have going here. Like your designs and your very talented with ZBrush. I wish you all the best with this comic book (you are making a comic book right? At least that is what it seems to me-;)). As I was watching your video, I thought of something to make our lives easier in ZBrush… the part where your trying to find the EYES to your creature, it takes you some time to do so. Now, would it not be cool if there was an icon where we could click on in the subtools palette that would bring up a SEARCH BOX and all we would have to do is put in a work i.e. EYE and it would automatically scroll through the subtools and find that item? And if it is not what were looking for, we could have an option to hit NEXT to find the next item with EYE in it? You know, like when using PDF’s it allows you to find certain words. I think this would help greatly for tools such as yours where there are many, many sub tools. OR, AND colour coded i.e. if a tool has many weapons, we could color code the sub tools lets say RED that had to do with weapons and sub tools that had to do with FLESH could be color coded BLUE or, color coded the sub tools that have to do with the upper torso a certain colour and sub tools that have to do with the lower torso another colour so we could quickly find items in the sub tools. OR, AND the sub tools LIST be automatically colour coded according to poly groups? We should send this as a request in ZBrush 5 when it comes out?? Anywho, think I got carried away. Also, I think your the first artist I see use PAINTSTOP to the maximum. Love the concept sketch you did at the begining of your posts. At first I thought you were using PAINTER or PHOTOSHOP. Then when I read more, it just blew me away. Now I am going to have to most certainly start playing around with PAINTSTOP. Best.
Dragon, thanks very much for the reply, World of Red Sands is a Multi-character Image, Sculptural and Art collection. I’m working on the character stories and bringing them all together into a wild Red Sands book.
Those are great suggestions for ZB5 send them in.
I really did enjoy paint stop it is a very intuitive paint system and you can achieve really great results. Play Dragon, Play.
