Birdman thingy

Not only a cool creature, overall design and coloring as well. One of my favs here.

That is just absolute piece of art. Great concept and amazing execution. I love the colours. *****

Ah, how I love this model! Brilliant stuff… I have to thank you, because your first post really inspired my to stop lurking through the posts, get my thumb out of my butt, and get to bloody work!!

I would be very honoured if you could take a minute or two to give me any feedback you’d like to on my current WIP. It’s inspired by your piece in a roundabout way.

The detail is breathtaking!Rock on!

I think you lost a lot of the model details with that render :frowning:
Anyway, i think i would prefere to see him from his back, or the side to see more of your great muscle modeling

very good!

Just brilliant madmac

Really great! For those of you who will be going to Siggraph this image will be featured in our banner along the top of the booth. I can’t wait to see it that huge!

Congrats Jeff. :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:

Ryan

Thanks everybody for all the encouraging words!

Bimm the Stone: Your very welcome… I’m glad you found it useful.

ruslan: that’s a hard one to answer… it was spread out over a month maybe a couple hours hear and there. Most of the time was test rendering … man I hate that. Mental Ray is a dog! Ok well I shouldn’t say that… I just don’t know all the ways to properly optimize the renderer yet.

meanboythecat: sure… I’m at work right now, so I’ll check your model out this weekend

slocik: I agree 100%. It’s inevitable though when you apply a texture map. The colors… well to be more specific the color variations always obscure the model to some degree. If I could figure out a good way to finish an image without texture mapping, believe me I would.

I feel really weird not thanking everybody individually, because I read every one of these comments with great interest and I am greatful for everyone for taking the time out of there day to compliment or critique my work. but I noticed on my last posts that I end up sounding like an parrot repeating “thank you” a bunch of times.

gratulation on this masterpiece! loving everything about it!

This piece is an absolute standout!

Wow!
Patton

very cool:grimacing:

You’ve done a great job with this one. Everything from modeling to rendering is top notch. Well done :+1:

I knew you would finish it eventually. Awesome job. I am glad it made top row because I prolly wouldnt have checked the thread for a long time. We all knew it would whenever you finished it :sunglasses:. Your skill with keeping the mesh smooth and clean in zbrush is really a great asset…but your overall design is what makes this stand out so much…which is what you want anyway…anyone can add the details but it takes a great design to shine through the wall of submissions here. :+1:

Congratulations on the double top row!

I wonder if this is the first piece to make top row twice?

Very nice indeed
