Looks like a Scexie (sp?) from the Dark Crystal in a way.

michaeljbaird: Thanks…I started with a base mesh from max. I’ve been wanting to play with zshperes more but just haven’t had time.
kyphur: Now that you mention it, I can totally see it… cool! Though I think when I’m finish with the whole thing the semblance might go away.
Evan Gaugh: Thanks for the compliment. Concept… Not really, well now that I say that… I did have a scribble in my sketchbook that inspired it. It’s not very good though so I’m not going to post it. This guy is more of an ad-lib I guess, just kinda coming up with stuff as I go for the most part.

pride: Thanks, if you mean the rendering quality or color, that was a total accident… a happy one, but an accident nonetheless. I think it had something to do with the reflected light from the surounding texture. The creature is actually just gray. Weird…

…im currently working on a skeksie from dark crystal… and this model has inspired me to go back into the head.
small_orange_diamondThis is great looking I really dig the variety of texture. The areas around the corners of the mouth and the front of the beak look so tasty. The nostril is very organic and fits right in. Even the butt of the head looks like skin. This is really refreshing. Cant wait to see the rest of your “Vulture from Hell”!

Very sorry for the late response. I’ve had my hands full with the latest addition to the McAteer clan As I’m sure you can imagine a newborn baby can take up a lot of your time and sleep so this project is going really slow. I did manage to get a little work done on it though.
Here is the progress… the first image is a quick test to see how I’m going to make the feathers. The second is just the model of the torso in zbursh.
