Birdman thingy

o man that anatomy is turbo wicked. this is the tightest anatomy i think i’ve seen on these forums and that includes petroc. is this a personal project? movie? game? just a render? whatever…wicked work. inspires me to crank the focal shift on my brush and get cracking on some of my wip’s

10 kudos out of 10 or 10 hasslehoffs out of 10…whichever you prefer

Nice, very nice. You have taken your work to the next level. Makes me feel like posting again. Congrats on the newborn. Ours is eight weeks old and things are just starting to become manageable- hang in there. If yours is younger, don’t worry it gets easier.

later,

I knew this was going to be an outstanding piece by the quality of the head.
Top class so far.

great anatomy study! im anxiously awaiting updates!

Totally frickin’ sick man. Looks amazing.

madmac, I likes it alot!

Stunning work!! Jaw on tha floor…lookin forward to more updates!

Great anatomy.
:+1: reminds me of the 0 fat iggypop

Heh. I was thinking Iggy Pop when I saw the body too. Awesome modelling, man.

haha that is great man! great idea and great development! congrats! :+1:

I really love your work. The balance between small detail and the broad shapes is really incredible. Can’t wait to see more

Isn’t it amazing to have that kind of freedom to model. One had to work so hard to get those results before.

Just curious about your creature, it has refence from many species in the head alone. Where are you going with the final design?

Wooooow !!! very great modeling !!! :+1: :+1: :+1:

Cool modelling but the neck is a bit ruined by the feathers and maybe isn’t made evident enough with the feathers on it
Great Job :+1: :+1:

Very slick modeling. I like the way you handled the muscles. Great style. We are waiting for the final piece.

Absolutly wonderfull.
I love the way you paint extremly fine details, on nice geometry.

Did you positioned the modeld after sculpting it via morph?

5 stars for sure

I just wanted to thank everyone who responded. I really value everyone’s posts and comments. It’s a wonderful thing to be able to share your art with other artists and get feedback, be it good or bad

lemonnado: Thank you very much

Evan Gaugh: Don’t give up on the feathers yet, I’m still working on them

Flaco: Thanks for the kind words

ozone1979: When I started this thing I wasn’t thinking Dark Crystal at all, but well I can’t ignore the obvious so… maybe a skexie in his prime!

justin.jacot: That is probably the best compliment I’ve ever gotten on this forum!

10 hasslehoffs out of 10 … that’s hilarious! Thanks!

zpetroc: Thanks a lot man! Yes you definitely need to post more! I always enjoy looking at your work! You rock!

Thanks for the words of encouragement, my son is 3 weeks old tomorrow and quite the handfull

pride: Thanks man, it’s appreciated

stimpack: Thanks man I love anatomy…so I appreciate the compliment.

kyphur: I appreciate it, thanks for the compliment

voodoomonkey:Thanks I appreciate it

Psionic: Thanks a lot I’m glad you like it.

sadicus: Thanks…Yeah that Iggy Pop is remarkable

VeryGrimm: Thank you

metamesh: Thanks a lot man! I love your work, incredible stuff!

metic: Thanks, I like the contrast of detail vs no detail…makes for a more interesting model… to me anyway

crossbones: I hear ya… I hate modeling with sub-D’s. Zbrush is soooo much better.
To be honest I’m kinda ad libbing a bit here. I have a doodle in my sketchbook that I started from, but it was much more lizard like that my model turned out. So where I’m heading with this is not really clear. I know it’s the wrong way to do it, but it’s where I ended up.

xxxeb: thank you very much.

rtwolfenstein: Your the second guy to mention the feathers… I guess I had better work on them more and get it right… Thanks!

vlad74: Thanks… I love making muscles!

Sebcesoir: Thank you… I didn’t pose the body after I modeled it in zbrush. Which meant I had to model both sides of his body… no mirroring this time. It’s not that I ddin’t want to use mirroring. Believe me I have the attention span of a tick. The faster the better  It’s just that the last time I did that I had some major problems with the polys dividing poorly after it was posed. It Left me with some artifacts I couldn’t get rid of…perhaps the pose was too extreme. Anyway this time I wanted to try and avoid that situation so…

i love how the skin wrinkles and folds over the muscles…damn thats cool sculpting…

Absolutely Wonderful!
Bravo
