Beautiful creature, I like your style. I took a look at your webpage, great stuff
yes, amazing stuff. love the texturing, though I think it’s a shame most of the details on the face is obscured by the dark textures and lack of lighting in that area of the final render. also, the backlighting that creates a nice rim along the right side of the body fails to show up on around the head. it would have helped emphasize it’s shape against the dark background. yes, I’m nitpicking.
Absolutly woderfull piece of art.
That would be great to put higher res of this master piece!
It would make a great sketch for a new version of dark crystal skecksis!
Madmac: The final is excellent! I dig the design, bigtime. It was well worth the wait…
Dickie
You guys are awesome…Thanks to everybody for all the terrific compliments!
I’m more motivated than ever to get started on the next one…
Superb finishing and craftsmanship.
I’m curious -what’s the narrative with the lights at the end of the wires?
awesome character man…its so damnc ool…final image is da bomb
Fantastic final image! The lighting is really impressive too, subtle and dynamic at the same time.
I need to say it again :] I just love the modeling on this one :] I really wish to see his rendered from the back or the side so we can see all his muscles ;]Damn cant wait for your next work
this is amazing work! nice job!
Hey Madmac.
Dude I’m glad you finished it.
Congrats on the banner at sig…
You know how much of a fan of your work I am.
But man, you web site pushed it to a whole new level.
Much love… thanks for inspiring this old fart to get back to work.
Cheers

Aka, The Voodoo Monkey
Thanks everybody for all the kind words! They are very encouraging!
boozy floozie: I think of him as the shaman or witch doctor type figure of the birdman village. Origionally I had bones and shrunken heads hanging around his neck which would have sold that idea a little better… but I ended up taking them off because they obscured too much of his body.
slocik: I always intended to render him out in the one angle so I never put any love in the textures on his back. It’s a weird thing making a 3D still… you model the whole object, only to view from one angle in the end.
voodoomonkey: I’m flattered to be a source of inspiration for you.
Ok… time to get started on the next model
Hey Mad, congratulations on the Top Row… you deserve it man! I’ll express my admiration everytime you post some great as usual
I’d love to see your website but I have no clue how to find it… if Voodoomonkey says it’s great, it must be
Keep them coming Mad
OH! maybe on the next project you can just press that record button, so that would update the learning fish script
Great work.!!!..one of the best …the modelling…the texturing…everything is perfect!!!
Well, considering your web site - first I went to “paintings” and >> with paintings just looking like rendered 3D content, WHY do you bother??
I mean, your stuff on your site is so terrific and unique - what should I take home from there? Inspiration or frustration (by thinking of my own crap)?
Anyway, your site is bookmarked and I am going to stare some holes into me monitor!
And yes, decided for “inspiration” and got to thank you for that!!
Simply wonderful work from scribble to final render and everything inbetween!!
elarcano: Thanks man, I’m always greatful for your compliments!
my site is www.unnaturalthings.com I hope it lives up to Voodoomonkey’s praise.
ferncastro: thank you.
Zaphod: what wonderful compliments! Thank you very much… oh and it’s good to hear inspiration won out Keep up the modeling!
I really hate to disappoint you: NO compliments, only the truth!
this is f*cking geurgeus dude, ilove it, the color map is just wonderful.
man i love it… im gonna have to buy that poster
OMG, the prophecy - Skeksis rule once more
Skeksis kill Gelfling?
The head part reminds me of Brian Froud’s Skeksis from the movie;
The Dark Crystal (awesome movie, with an equally awesome soundtrack)
That’s really nice work - looks dark’n’moody
