HAHAHHAHAhaahhahah You’ve made my day!

Patton you’re the man!

Does anyone know where that came from? I MUST have a desktop wallpaper sized version of that!

Hello Patton, i love your work! The DVD is great too…thanks for that! :+1:

CONGRATZ TO ALL THE ARTISTS INVOLVED INTO CAMERONS AVATAR

Frenchy Pilou  THANKS BUDDY

After seeing Avatar about 4 times I did some research on mr. patton and found his DvD and purchased it. Let me tell you, great stuff! and very helpful with his tips and tricks. I also picked up the Avatar art book which is enjoyable to study. The movie itself was very inspiring as a young concept artist I did enjoy literally everything about this movie. Thank you to everyone who worked on the project. And congrats on all the awards the movie won.

It’s not even 3D work, it’s ART! Great job!

Hi Scott,

do you have a deviantArt account?
There are so many artists on DA who are trying to do fanart for AVATAR.
This is my try: http://mike-reiss.deviantart.com/art/AVATAR-Character-3D-Render-150369520

We all are looking for reference images. Do you have these images on DA?
If not, would you allow me to upload some of them giving you credit?

Greetings.

IF YOU DONT MIND…will you share your various matcap used for giant…please…thanks …
also when you are rotating the model…your preview was of low resolution…how do we make it…please tell…

Next best thing since Lord of the Rings!Love the film, characters, worlds and story.Directed incredibly well,I’d of liked to see a little more emphasis on some youth creatures.Especially in the destruction sequences to reaaly pull those heart strings out.Would of been a milestone like the pain in E.T and Watership Down for years to come if had been included.Saying that I just loved everything about it.What a fresh concept full of new belivable ideas brough to life.INsane guys!!

cal

only just made it out to the cinema to see Avatar (new baby excuse inserted here!)
simply stunning, i felt like a young kid watching star wars for the first time !
really top stuff :+1:

Incredible work. I watched the movie recently. I have to say, those environments were stunning! I didn’t once think about , “how did they do that scene in CG?”. Usually I’ll watch an effects heavy flick and go about analyzing how they did the shot. The Avatar world just sucked me in. Top row indeed.

this is just amazing and wonderful and I wish there would be a morph for poser so we can play with it and do some great images :+1:

I’m seeing a lot of work done with using Poser inspired by Avatar characters. And some of them are seriously remarkable.

I’ve seen a couple too but they are not that good and I worked on a texture for myself but the morph in poser sucks :o

I am wondering about the eye forms. Is their sphericity perfect, or are they squashed in a little? I’m working on just for fun sculpt of Neytiri and Jake. Using standard Zspheres in their native sphericity looks off. Maybe it’s a placement and size misnomer on my end.

Wow. Fantastic work. Top of the catagory.

Hi Patton! Very very very very very great work. I started my work in 3D design in software like ZBrush because of my inspiration of Avatar movie. I never did anything in 3D software, except little animation and modeling in Maya, but nothing like this. So because my obsession (i can call it like that  ) with Avatar movie I want to make myself like Avatar in ZBrush, so if you have any tips how to create myself first as a man, and than as Na’vi it would be great. I can see that you make a exact copy of faces of Jake and Grace, so does any tip for me to doing just like that?

P.S. What software you use to add hair on you models on this thread, and what rendering software you use to make this photos?

Great thanks in advance

P.S.s. You can see my animation and modelin in Maya on this link, and share comments here if you want  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3WyXo2PAtos

Awesome stuff!!!

these might be useful to you …try searching for: Image Modeling software
In maya 2010 there is complete tool set to create realistic hair.
the rest of the work is all skill and learned technique.
