Artworks & WIP

The mood of that new one totally feels like the OG alien movie. Diggin it!!!

that blood red one is very cool…! how many tools were in that one?

I love your works :+1:

Can you explain how is the process to obtain those details, is a combination o UV+edgeloops+extract , something like that, because as far i tried I always have Hard surface type, i would like someting more organic.

I would like to know too :stuck_out_tongue: it’s very painfull sometimes

Some info about the process (it’s not a tutorial but simply how i start for those tests) :

  • start from low poly mesh (made with other sw or inside zb

using primitives , zspheres, zsketch,etc)

  • make UV (unwrap it or use other UV layout)

make polygroups from uv layout, create grouploops, select them, mask them or extract them or inflat them etc

  • Don’t forget to use the morph target to preserve the original form and use the morph brush
  • Create some custom alphas inside ZB to have a cool zdepth that works well
  • Sculpt everything or use displacement to increase the details use group split and repeat the process so you can manage lots of subtools at a very high subdivision
  • the use of layers is important too to increase some sculpt or to delete it or subtract it
  • make an organic feel with claybrush, pen wet solid brush etc - at the end use your imagination :)
  • Then to make a complex scene the use of 2.5D is interesting but you can also stay in 3D, usually i make various render with different material and make a grabdoc to have an alpha with depth information to add smoke effects etc

I think it’s enough
Below some images about the last 2 works that could be interesting for some of you

Thx for everything.

[QUOTE=LVXIFER;975747]Another test to study the effects of various materials combined from different renderings in PS , hope you like it , c&c are always welcome.
Regards

Stunning Artworks! I like the Style so much.

Thx Ross i’m glad u like it

Well we have here another project still WIP where i use zbrush in particular for the great UV Master potential and to export models from zb to max with all the maps needed (displacement, normal, etc)…honestly it was painful to model organic things only in Max and make the unwrap traditionally… render maybe of course better but i’m not so expert using mental ray…and in general as u have seen i prefer other things  Hope you like it, this is the baroque room, i’ll appreciate all critics/comments/suggestions so that i can learn something more

Exelente uso de texturas, bravo amigo

I knew there was extract in the middle of your technique, i’m not use to but today i already tried and had some good results, i’ll will make more tests + other technique mixed .
I know what you men with composing renders with different materials , i’ll ready made some experiments too. I always practiced modeling that my principal goal in 3d, but I need to study more UV, Poly paint, retopology .

Thanks for the polyframe and extracted result :+1:, it make me realize how you work, i’ll post my studies ASAP

That little black table…
…its gorgeous!

I absolutely agree.

EHEH i love it too, cant find it by the way so i’ll bought it soon

i’m honoured to be close to Gutalin, he is the real master
even if i’m trying to reach a personal unique style
thx to you all ladies & gentleman

Try soon to make something personal i’m curious to see your progression in that style (style that somewhere in a stupid thread has been criticized
because someone think that it is easy…but this not the point if it is easy or not…we aren’t here to win a championship you know…or to demonstrate something to others…
we are here for passion and dedication and to progress experimenting making something cool first for ourselves)

I’m glad you have appreciated my little workflow to understand something more, that is the most important thing being here at ZBC.

bravo!

yup :stuck_out_tongue:

some tricks for texturing, here is the result…

Awesome the last one

style that somewhere in a stupid thread has been criticized
because someone think that it is easy

I’ve already heard the same about CG in general, --> its easy the computer does everything this is not art :stuck_out_tongue:

This last one is ALSO very cool LVXIFER.

I WISH CG was easy. Then I could be an artist too.

LVXIFER,
very cool images. Can you share the process step by step from modeling to texturing?
Specially the last one. Gorgeous.
Thank you.
