For a character I’m working on.
The boots look cool but not to comfortable 8-). However, I’d like to have a pair to walk my Dog’s in Winter :D. Good Traction.
I really like your Dreamatia Pic. Try some cool textures! small_orange_diamond

Your boots looks so good, hope to see updates
Lemonado: thanx bro, I think my new character render will be black and white. kind of cross between a Frank Millar and ‘film noir’ look. I love the power of hues instead of colour.
Ilusiondigital: thanx buddy I like your art as well:)
solidsnakexxx : Thanx for the kind words, I was just on your website… very interesting topic.
I like the first picture a lot…very good expression on teh model face.
Early stages of model… very early.
Right hand is off and hair needs loads of work. I will be adding armour this week and lots of details. I thought the boots came out o.k.
Looking good. I like the pose. A rare view. And I agree, the boots really make sense there for me. Nice to see that you make such a great progress.

Lemonnado,
Thanx for the comments, still got a long way to go on this one.
I want to try my hand at a graphic novel and Z is the perfect tool for it.
wow, very nice! I esp. like the Archangel Uziel altho the boots are really good too!
Wenna,
Thanx for saying some nice things, I’m glad you liked it.
If your interested I posted a pic of ArchAngel Michael on a previous post in this thread. I’m trying to stay away from obvious Angelic stereotypes. I’ve always held the view that angels are GOD’s assassins and that you probably wouldn’t want to run into one.
Update with more armour added, still low rez…
Love all the detail. If you’re looking for crit, maybe spend a bit more time posing the hands? The one on his knee is posed too casually … if you can get him gripping his knee, that would look more dynamic and make more sense of the overall body pose, which is a little unbalanced at the mo. The hand holding the staff has a big gap between the palm and the staff (you can’t see it, but it’s implied by the diameter of the staff and the size of his hands). Get the fingers together, and probably increase the diameter of the staff.
Looking really good, though. Keep going!
Thanx Moochie:idea:
Hey guys,
Was looking at new screenshots from the Unreal3 engine and was inspired by the complexity of the characters armour in “GEARS OF WAR” by Epic Games. I spent the evening fine tuning alphas with deformations and came up with pretty complex armour. The potential seems endless. I have posted alpha studies elsewhere on this thread but these look the best.
wow, am really loving the updates, all the details are great! Really nice on the Alphas… I keep practicing on those, and never get great results such as yours. Very nice job!
Wenna,
Thank you for the kind words. Keep at those alpha’s because the only way to get results is experimenting for hours.
Other platforms like Maya can achieve similiar results but you have to get into other areas like “booleans” which leave “n-gons” on your model and also surface directions which need to be tweaked through “reversing normals”.
ZBRUSH is far easier in my opinion.
For an upcoming character…
