Keep it up mate:+1:

Mr. micro26,
thank you for the support.

After reading that great tutorial on alphas by Monster Maker I experimented with some deformations. You modelers out there into fantasy figures I hope can see how easy armour could be made this way for your characters. For you Maya users the same thing can be done only it is a longer process using the extrude faces function, and you will have to draw out a custom template using the create polygon tool. Alphas are highly overlooked in Zbrush.
Try it…

More Alphas… rendered in zbrush

Ps try to use the Zplace by Cameyo for more crazzy realisation !
You can of course use your Alphas for start
Here the crazzy

Have fun research!

awsome thread did you opened here, odhinn-mate:+1: :+1: I like your style and the

ability to “research” this unbelieavable ZB-soft, too

Its great! You should write a smal tuto…

How do you create meshes from alphas this way??

Frenchy,
thanks I’ve enjoyed your posts, your knowledge of art is impressive. I’ll try out the script.
Abyssis,
thanks for the kind words, it’s always nice to hear from a fellow Czech. My last name is " Kohout ".
Sebcesoir,
You have done amazing pieces on your website. As far as a tut goes, I’ve only had zbrush for a few months. I will say check out the hair tut on this site. That was my launching pad for using alphas. If you use the stencil function you know you can import alphas to use. In the drop-down menu of the alpha section you will notice two overlooked buttons . One is “make stencil” the other is “make 3-d”. Both of these apply to your custom alpha template. I would suggest keeping the resolution setting to around 100 and the density to 25. If you don’t you could if you set the “make double sided” function on, find your 3-d object pushing out 1,000,000 polygons. You will have to find a happy medium. I have also found through my own research that Maya hates these dense 3-d alphas and will crash when imported as an object file into Maya 6.5. This really sucks because i have not been able to export that nice sculpted hair effect from Zbrush into Maya. I will also let you in on a little trick that I use with ZBRUSH, that is if you are creating just a scene to render and not an exportable obj. file ; use the layer function to add complex 3-d alphas to your scene. This way you can crank up the resolution when creating a 3-d alpha and use the GYRO or press hotkey " T " to position the 3-d alphas into your scene. You could store up to 9 or 12 layers this way with each layer having a great deal of very dense 3-d alphas loaded. If you try this you will find the possibilities are truly endless. You will not be limited to numbers of polygons per scene using this method of loading ztools. Maya cannot do this so I urge you to explore the small but super powerful jems Zbrush has hidden in it’s menus. HOPE THAT HELPS…

This is the last one… just wanted to show a final one using only two alphas

Excelent solution…!! Odhinn:+1:
I try one…this is fun

JotaJota,
thanks alot man;)

puede compartir sus parametros en make3d…? no logro la superficie pulida

it can share its parameters in make3d.? non profit the polished surface
thanks …man :+1:

very nice designed pieces…

nice way of working!
thank also for your interest!

I know you can achieve very complexe shapes with zbrush, but often, you have to cenvert them into 2.5D.
is it 3d you could import in another 3d programm? COuld be nice to make logos…

Jota Jota,
nice textures…
