Announcing ZBrushCore

yeah the lack of GoZ is very silly to me. They were way too overzealous gutting things imo. Why no explicit mask lasso brush despite the fact that you can make your own? No clipping brushes hurts a lot too, and the restrictions on what you can import and open mean that until people make zbrushcore specific resources, almost none of what exists now can be used in it, like the IMM brush repository thread. Even if you can import things it won’t replace the functions they took out so I’m not even sure why they made this restriction in the first place.

I have no idea if they’re paying attention to responses now that it’s out in the wild, but I hope that they have some intent to support it and not kind of leave it lie like they did with sculptris.

They can’t add all those cool stuff in Zbrushcore, the temptation to buy the full Zbrush must exist…

For me just the clipping brush would make zbrushcore good for more than organic sculpting.

True but there was no need to go crazy .

+100 on the clipping brush as well. Pretty please, cherry on top, etc, etc.
Just that one thing for me. No ZRemesher/ZModeler, etc. Thats ok. I will upgrade anyway but it sure would be nice to get a head start on some hardsurface stuff.

In comparison with Modo Indie, zbrush core is very limited to a crazy degree.
Modo Indie only disabled a few things like network rendering, scripts, plugins.
But is fully functional like the standard version.

Hope they consider bringing the sculpting of zbrush core to near standard. That’s the core of zbrush imo, sculpting.
The other stuff like zremesher, plugins, texture baking can be stripped out.

I’m choosing a software for sculpting and I would happy to try also ZbrushCore. But there is no demo
How can I choose without a trial? They promised a demo version, where is it?

when did they promise that?

sorry, my fault - “demo” means not demo-version, but demonstration and presentation.
anyway - it is impossible to decide without real trial.
so, I’m still thinking about another software, but still hope that they release a demo version.

I’m still thinking about another software

What is it, 3D-Coat?

There is no Trial for ZBrushCore because all of its features (except the Gizmo) are in ZBrush. By using the ZBrush Trial (found at https://pixologic.com/zbrush/trial/) you are also testing out ZBrushCore.

http://ZBrushCore.com/features shows the feature comparison.

KeyShot is the same way, with its Trial version being of KeyShot Pro rather than HD. It is pretty standard practice in the industry to only offer a Trial of the flagship version.

What is it, 3D-Coat?

3d coat, mudbox, meshmixer, zbrushcore. I can’t try only the last one.

Well, the only way to evaluate this is to try the big Z.

And by the way, try Blender too, the sculpting stuff in Blender is really great…

And Modo Indie. Its a complete 3d package.

I have gotten ZBrushCore installed and loaded on my Surface 3. So far it seems to be running well. I need to get proficient in it. Thanks for the tutorials! I hope you guys keep making them.

I don’t take a Cadillac for a demo drive if I want to purchase a Chevrolet…

It seems the best way to purchase ZBrushcore would be to purchase a Wacom Intuos 3D. It would be more cost effective that way. I already have an Intuos ver 3 and this maybe a tempting way to upgrade my tablet…

I live in Canada and ZBrushcore is $159 US = $212 Canadian.

I can get a new Wacom Intuos 3D tablet from Amazon.ca (Amazon in Canada) for $264 Canadian…

Again tempting…

PS: Any difference between ZBrushcore and ZBcore supplied with a Wacom Intuos 3D?

No difference at all, except that it’s not eligible for a cross-platform license discount. This is because the bundle receives a significant discount out of the gate.

I have no idea what is meant by a “a cross-platform license discount”…:frowning:

how much is an upgrade from zbrushcore to zbrush full?

Upgrade is 700 apparently.
