Anatomypunk

Hello again!

Been a long time since I last posted so I thought it would be a good idea to update the thread. For the past year I’ve been busy developing an iPad app for people interested in figure construction.
My main target group are people who wants to construct an écorché in clay or digital medium. But anyone interested in artistic anatomy will find it useful.

Here are some of the features of the app:

  • A full overview of the male proportions used on the écorché.

  • A full overview of the skeletal system and views of each bone.

  • A full overview of the muscular system and each muscle, including origin, insertion and action.

  • Cross-sections of the musculoskeletal system.

  • Muscle layers, designed for the écorché in clay (very important to add the muscles in the right order).

  • Illustrations of all the joint actions and illustrations of the muscles responsible for each joint movement.

Alright, enough talk, here are some images of the écorché used for the app and some videos (iPad recordings):

OK I have this app now and just spent a lot of time looking at it and I think this is the most thorough one I have ever seen . Well done , I appreciate all of the work that you put into this. I’m sure it will be incredibly useful. Thank you for all of the time that you invested in this.

monstermaker: Mr Baker, thank you very much for your kind comment, made my day once again. Makes me very happy that people find it useful, it really makes all the work worth it. Especially when coming from someone who know so much about anatomy. Thank you very very much

I really like how his scapula could take the place of the front of his mandible in a silhouette view. Interesting pose I like it, and the model of course. I would like to know how you posed him? His appendages/extremities can be moved with the transpose tool, but for his spine/torso and head did you use the transpose master plugin? I am curious since I will want to pose a skeletal model at some point and have it rotated and moved but not look deformed/stretched in the process.

Any tips on the process you used for posing it all are appreciated. Thank you

Hi Daniel!

I’m glad you like the pose
The setup is similar to this video:

Thank you for the explanation/video to the workflow. I also like your video on vimeo with the guy sitting on the large vertebrae and the skeleton grabbing his arm.

I just went back to check your earlier posts and saw that someone else had the same question. Sorry you had to answer the same question twice but thank you for being polite about it. I had no idea someone else had asked the question.
