About the next step for ZBrush

I’m just hoping against hope it has texture layers this time around. It’s the only thing stopping us using it in a production environment as a texturing tool. Anyone heard/know whether it will or not?

Wouldn’t count on that one… I was inspecting the UI like a hawk during the video looking for any new features that weren’t shown on the video, but didn’t see anything. Doesn’t really mean there’s not layers for textures, but it seems prudent that there would be a layers pallette or something when he was texturing the face at least… but there was none. :frowning:

Thank you so much guys at Pixologic!
You really are pioneers and company who leads the way. Rolls Royce among the Toyotas.
I really thought that you have sold your company (and your soul) because of delay after delay. Thank god I was wrong. You just have been working your brains out.

I can already see how other 3D companies will include your sculpting methods to their software´s arsenal. Ofcourse they will forget to thank you for being there first!
Am I completely wrong or is ZB3 also capable for industrial designing? That would be totally awesome. I wouldn´t have any use for any other app -honestly. I love your ui and I have anxiously been dreaming ZBrush to become capable as industrial modeling. Is it now reality?
Any way, have a great year of 2007! Keep on doing awesome work and being so especial kind for all of ZBrush users.

All the best:
Mikko

Well, between MOI3D and Zbrush, I plan on making some cool textured models…

If you haven’t used it, check MOI3D out, it’s a cad modeler made for artists.

And to think of how awed I was by Z-Brush before…

Surely “Good things to those who wait!”

It’s taken a while, but I’m finally getting Z-Brush. I’d saved up enough to get it since v. 1.5 was about to come out, but a family medical emergency leeched all my funds for a while. I actually saved up enough to buy it 5 times despite that, and each time had to give it away again and again…

Now, at last I’m getting it.

I’ve been playing with the demos and following the courses/tutorials so I’ll start making the ‘z-projects’ I outlined and shelved ASAP once I get it. (by Wednesday, once my credit card clears the funds) Oh, and I also got an AMD 5000+ computer with an ATI 512meg video card and 2 gigs of ram, a thanks from the person I helped, to run it on.

And that was for Zbrush 2 something…
This 3 looks like a full step up.

Fantastic and Amazing…
Great 3D pack!!!

bows and kudos to the magicians at Pixologic

Oh, holiest of holy. It’s sooo much more than I could’ve asked for…

Projects, looming! Excitement already peaked! Chapter heading illustrations waiting! Is it the 15th yet?

amazing! simply amazing!
I am just soooooo anxious until May! can’t wait anymore!
I appreciate sooooo much the free upgrade, this is really amazing! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!!!

This is a great software and the more I know it the more I love it!

malem

Been toying with ZBrush since it was 0.95 and although I’ve still not mastered or even tamed it, I can say it is one of my best programs.

Ignoring the crashing harddrives… reinstall… find a new registration code… get a new registration code… another crash… more issues… upgrades (XP and then Vista)… more hoops… well you get the picture, I think this new version will be just awsome!

I’m going to wait patiently… okay like everyone else here, impatiently for it’s release and wail, holler and cry for joy when its finally on my sweet 'pute and assiting me with my endevors of 3d-ism.

Great stuff can’t wait… Roger, Out! :+1: :+1:

Its truely amazing when in our lives we are touched by something. Whether it is truely great or just a fraction of time we cherish because of the immense emotion we hold over that moment. Being who we are has never been more vocalized or imagined better than through the artists of our world. Countless people have created images and motion pictures that even for only a moment after we were exposed to them they irrevocably changed who we are. Whether to insipre our betterment or to partake in ones idealistic journey of new worlds yet realized the end is the same but the means continues to change. In this change lies “Zbrush” and its foundation “Pixologic”. Who can have more eliquent words assembled into phrases of praise than Pixologic? A company concerned with elivating the creative collective abilities of us all by creating tools that unbind our chains and redefine the rules in a much more logical approach than any set forth to us in the past five years. Tools designed for the artist and not for the programming adept members of this 3d world is an impressive feat indeed. I congradulate Pixologic and its entire development team, programmers and artists alike that have made this next step possible. It must be an event on this day for your company to have gone through such toil and design to deliver such inovation to the masses, one could only imagine the success you must feel. At the end of it all your product will spern the next generation of images, ideas, emotions never felt, experiances never had by millions around the globe on a scale never before seen. Thank you for inspiring in me the ideal of a single companies ability to touch so many’s lives on a scale such as you have. Here’s to bringing imagination to life! Thank you Pixologic!

We need a new video for Monday…

Best software ever! Just that.
Congratulations to all pixologic team!!

Bravo and thanks 1000X to the Team of PIXOLOGIC :+1: :+1: :+1:

The digital artists are finally free, now.

“ZBrush 3, The New Generation”

Yep, a HUGE congrats to Pixologic and Ofer for this sensational new version. The Buzz is unbelievable and all that they’ve seen is a “little” of what ZB 3.0 will bring to the table
One thing is to create something fresh from the ground up, with a genius touch, opening new doors for us artists, like Pixologic always did. Another is to simply take the ideas already out there and “compile it” into a “new” software as I’ve seen others do. So, keep it up Pixologic, innovating and providing us with such amazingly artistic tools. I love the way the interface is. I think it’s VERY immersive and different from another boring 3D applications. I’m speaking here as a character animator and modeler working for the VFX industry, who spend several hours a day working with Maya at the studio and even this way I had no problems opening my mind to the Zbrush philosophy. Believe me, it’s easy… and VERY addictive

Great, just GREAT! :+1:
-Kris

i agree! big thanks

Ofcourse Antropus is one of the mysterious Beta-Men. :sunglasses:
Looking forward to see some of the beta-projects in more detail. It’s great to see all the Zbrush hero’s are thrilled. Amateurs and pro’s all learning new things and finding new ways to make beautifull things. Nice world!

Well, I did buy ZBrush2 and after a while, I put it aside as it was too much to get accustomed to: meshes that are tools, pixols, …you name it. But it kept on intrigueing me. So I bought Glen Southern’s dvd. It didn’t help for various reasons. So once again I put it aside.
Then I downloaded the quick reference guide and simply started to experiment. Often with Ctrl held down. Things started to come together. Like a kind of crystalisation.
I’m still a debutant, but “it’s there” now.

This only to say that you must never give up.

What I like very much about ZBrush is the fact that it’s more an artist’s than an industry tool. And of course that its developers really care for it. And for us, its users. Even when I couldn’t get it to work, I was never thinking it was a bad buy. It wasn’t.

So thanks for this upgrade that you offer for free. It motivates me even more to learn and start creating with it.

Just saw the video…What a cruel and inhuman thing to do!

How could you show us that & tell us we have to wait 2 months?!

I need it
NOW!!!
