About the next step for ZBrush

Moi3D*seems to be very exiting 3D app. Thanks for the tip! Now I got to give it a test drive.

Mikko

I’m looking for the day i can get my hands on it and experience that zbrush 3.
I wonder if there is transparacy and visibility of layers. It looks like zbrush 3 is going to be pack with an arsenal to unleash the artist. even more that zb2.

Thank you Pixologic :sunglasses:

Folks,

I wonder if the powers that be will make it available for maybe a reasonable fee to have a hard copy of Zbrush 3 for registered users, heck if they throw in small instructional info would be willing to paying more. I’m sure pixolator/pixologic group has more important things to think about but maybe they might consider it if it hasn’t been already mulled over. My question is with a nothing ventured nothing gained attitude. Here’s to hoping! :+1:

Speaking of videos, are more due for upload?

I mean, I just wondered if anyone’s heard the grapevine whisper. If they do what they did last time, that’d be cool. I’d say go for at least one video per week to make the months pass quicker.

BTW, in the best interest of health for ZBrushers, here is the Z-METER which measures anxiety levels. Should you fall foul to level 5 or above, just take a deep breath and a very long walk.

:white_small_square:-:white_small_square:-:white_small_square:-:white_small_square:-:white_small_square:-:red_circle:------ Level 6 = Gone into hibernation mode until 15th May

Thankfully I’m still in the green… just!

…a release of a “Demo” version?

what about more fancy videos/sneak peeks?

maybe something we havent seen yet.

I wonder if out of all these remarkable features, its possible to extrude a face or spin an edge? I know you can resurface stuff, but I can’t imagine how powerful this stuff is without basics being in place.

…how true, my friend:+1:

Thank you and

-cheerZ-

Same here, I’m hoping there’s some basic polymodeling in there somewhere - even if it’s VERY basic that would be something. I just can’t get along with that long-winded edge-loop technique in Z2.

Nothing to say, you’ve done it. This thread takes my breath away. And the video of course! You’ve really shocked us here in germany, esp. about this billion polygon-count, it took some time to realize! Because here in Germany the number 1 Billion is written 1.000.000.000.000, but I guess you mean 1.000.000.000 polygons. or i’m wrong, am I?! The new features are really amazing, absolutely good!

very well …

masc :grimacing:

Zbrush 3!!!
O-YAY BABY!!!COME TO DADDY!!!
<—Changes in super saiyen mode 3wink

Can’t wait until may!! By the way do it still have zsphere or it just another technic with the clay?

Dont know if you know little bit in french but a billion in french is a “milliard” so it is a thousand million.

Posted By Pix (Ofer):

“…advanced ‘digital clay’ with up to one billion polygons using HD geometry…”

This might not be real actual geometry but psuedo geometry so we will have to wait and see what the HD is defined as by Pixologic.

sorry mudbox

Yeah, I was wondering about that one billion poly thing. I mean, even the average PC is having problem breaking 6 million poly on Z2. Do we need, like, a gazillion of RAM to come anywhere near to one billion poly? How high a number of poly can an average PC handle on Z3?

I think maybe it’s just marketing talk… you know, “tastes great, and less filling!”… less filling for sure, but not so great tasting!

They also said Z3 supports up to 256 processors, which as far as im aware, don’t even exist.

Not now, but remember: in 2004 few even dreamt of dual cores. With advent of new AMD chips, we’ll welcome 32 and 64 CPU workstations. And in one, two years… who knows…

I think they mean network rendering. So 128 dual core computers…

Not so fast. Intel has a 30 core uber processor in the works. AMD is releasing a Quad core soon.
