And now you’re going to animate him right!
Seriously though, I had trouble telling if I was looking at renders beside actual photos or what…or am I? I mean that’s just amazing!!

Hats off Sir. Great textures, sculpt and lighting.
Would you mind sharing some technical information, like texture size, UVLayout, etc. It’s always a joy to learn from such a successful project
Just Perfect!!!
excelent!
Congratz for Top Row! Surely well deserved…Awesome Work!..
…indeed!
Only photo can make that more speedy
Very, very nice work, realistic degree very Gao, the author continuously improves of the work attitude Be very worth to study!
Amazing! Can you share your material/render settings please? I guess it’s most of the people want to know, i’ve seen very few people working around with this material, thanks!

Congratulations.
That´s the best skin I´ve ever seen before. Absolutely amazing.
Before this post I´ve never belived you could get a good realistic skin with vray. This is blowing up my mind.
I thought I speak in the name of everyone if I said that we will be eternally grateful if you share with us that fantastic sss2 vray settings.
Superb! What a nice work, great realism. Congrats…
Also thanks to wip posts.
Looks like a clean shaven Osama Bin Laden.

impressive work man! can i ask u if u have used some displacement map? i try to use disMap on my model but i can not reach a decent level =(… some tips?
Marvelloius work! Absolutly great job!
Nice scuplture, excellent texture and rendering skills!
Only one comment, I think the shape of mouth can be improved, it looks a little bit flat.
Anyway, man, you’re extraordinary!!!
Unbelieeeeeeevable
I’ve been trying to render hair on a model for a while with the standard Max hair plugin to no avail. Takes too long and looks rubbish. Tried the demo of Hair Farm briefly. I think you have shown me what I need to do! Get Hair Farm
By the way, have you given this image to the Hair Farm creators? They have some reasonable pictures in their gallery but your work is so far beyond that. If they put your picture up, they would probably get a whole lot more attention
EDIT: It’s there!
Hi all, thank you
Karnator : Yes Hairfarm is the way to go if you plan on doing hairs… I never won’t to have to use hair and fur… And yes I sended this image Cem put it into the gallery.
darkmummy: thank’s man, have you looked on the side view? the lips are not flat, lighting play’s a big role, just changing the lighting make things pop up more or less.
pappete: Yeah I always use displacement map from zbrush, I hate working in max with hi geometry I prefer to have my lowres mesh. All my textures are 4096 maps, so the displacement map also. I used Vray to do the render, so I used the vraydisplacementmod, I hope you don’t use the max displace modifier, it’s only good to see it in the veiwport, don’t render with that you will loose all your details. To render your 16 bit displacement map in vray(and also Mentalray), you need to put these value in the rgb offset -0,5
That way , your displacement map will render properly with vray and you will have all your details, I use 2d displacmeent and if you have skin pores sculpted like me, put the resolution to 3K, default is low at 512, just good if you don’t have very little details.
I hope that help.
KlaNDeR : About the sss2, nothing is better then trying it by yourself, do render test to learn how it work like I did, there is no magic bouton but I found sss2 much more easy to get super nice result then the Mentalray… you don’t need a lot of map to make it work good, I only have a diffuse map, a wieght map spec, a noise and a bump! that’s it. The lighting of vray is more realistic, so that help a lot too. I did some recommandations to Vlado about the sss2 and if they(at chaosgroup) take care of my recommandation, the next update would be awesome.
Gorgeous work, man! And your technique is absolutely amizing! I remember all problems when I made renders of my low-poly characters (in mr) for gaming booklet. Now I tried sss2 and achieved far better results in less time. sss2 works fine with normal maps as well as with displacement with any lighting preset. So you made my (and i’m sure not just only my) work easier, thanks!)
Big Guns, is it possible for you to show us your VRay Setup for the SSS2 Material
what abt the skin, the sss shader in max as i use it i cant get much of scattering feel to it how did u do urs it looks like a photo.
did u use a real image to make the texture? and the eyes just looks awesome.
i know tht i would talk for everyone hee when i ask for a tutorial if not video atleast some screen caps.
