I’ve lost three days trying to get similar effects with v-ray and sss2 but I totally failed If You could share some tips or even your skin settings… bla bla… nevermind.
i use vraymod ecc ecc.but i have exp displ map in 32bit…maybe this is the problem?

Hey, congrats once again bigguns! I wanted to ask did you polypaint the texture inside zbrush and what would you recommend for a matcap to paint on so it’s the the closest to the thing you’ll see once rendered in a 3D package?

i think your decisions concerning the maps were perfect;
…fototextures may provide acceptable results quickly, but on the long run hand painted textures achieve much better results when using it with zbrush and its 3d layers (pores, beard…) properly… you proved it!

Still asking myself why I’m not able to get that level of realism even after years of trying! After tries and tries I usually get a more “surreal effect” than a “iperreal effect”.
It’s not Vray, it’s not Zbrush…it’s that you are great!
Can you show us textures or passes?
I’m expecially interested in your sss passes because when I try to use Subsurface scattering in my program (Modo) My skin looks like wax.
I would like to see your sss pass render to see where the effect is more used and where is not.
