First of all i’d like to Congrats all Pixologic Scientists you did a fantastic job.Bt i’d like to give you my suggestion… Instead of creating new software…i think Pixologic should add this tri feature in ZBrush…COZ we all Love ZBrush… .n i i can live without ZBrush…
he was going to port it to LINUX… now that pixologic owns it, we will never see a native port of a decent sculpting app on linux :(((
Dont give me the WINE excuse. Zbrush doesnt work flawlessly with wine. Half of the zplugs give out error messages.
What a cool program.
It will certainly be interesting to use this “on the fly geo” additive sculpt program within Zbrush at some point, but I’d rather see it as a selectable feature with an “off/on” interface. Some of the topology meshes we use in Zbrush are already perfectly laid out for the sculpt stage work.
It would very frustrating to have extra tri’s and geo info inserted into those clean topo meshes after certain shapes were tooled into them.
I’ve been pining so bad for an Zbrush app like this that allows you to sculpt complex raw sculpts right out the gate, without the need to worry about the topology layout beforehand, but only as an option when you plan to work that way from the very start. We still need the old fashion way that respects and maintains the original models topo layout.
well, about linux: Blender seeems to evolve pretty well too
And 3D Coat is for Linux too.won’t be ZBrush, but it works and has voxel technology too.
if not, just use Windows ZBrush and be happy !
agree totally. Sculptris does work even without triangles, but ZB is way more efficient in dealing with quad only topologies ready to be detailed. Adding sculptris method as an option somewhat will work great to work developing your shapes with sculpting, like we can do currently with Z spheres, but without limitations (Z spheres are great as well btw). May also be the two technologies could be also joined a bit and we could work with an “unified skin” actually working like sculptris does? who knows.
Congrats to Dr.Petter - small_orange_diamond

i love this cute little Progi since the beginning
i saw it 3 month ago - and made some cool models with it.
Now you are in the great hall of pixologic .
The best for you and your future.
This is great stuff.
being the slow witted guy i am…:o I didn’t see the hoopla until i tried it. quickly realizing I was adding geometry as i pulled the brush from the sphere…
After getting my bearings
in less than two mins I had the starts of a nice stylized skull.
Then it crashed.
But thats ok !!! it’s FREE.99 !! and kicks major poly a$$.
those few mins alone was enough for me to see…
This can considerably change my work flow for the better.
Finally; a tool that can allow me to capture and sculpt what comes through my mind’s eye in a FAST and cohesive manner; Allowing very little room for distracting edges or unruly surfaces…with the tools here that can easily be tamed.
…this is truly Z sketch on another level.
Thank you so much for the gift Pixologic!
and congrats on the Talented new Team member.
Thats cool for Petter to come to such amazing company, but I erally enjoyed Sculptris as a free app…I really hope Pixologic wont merge Sculptris into ZB, I cant even imagine that, ZB is another type of app for me, I use both of em, and I love both, but as a free version I loved more and more Sculptris…
BTW congrats Petter…
will they keep it free? Nothing about that is mentioned in the thread
amazing!
Digital Clay done the right way, well done.
I wonder how will Pixo merge this technology into ZBrush? for all those people saying that pixo shouldn’t do this… don’t be naive. Pixo didn’t just purchase the rights for this program and not hope to profit with it in some way. It’s just good business.
I guess it will somehow be merged into zsketching… or maybe it will be a completely different alternative to zspheres? The software looks really good though, I’m sure it will benefit enormously from zbrush’s expertise (and viceversa… we all know zbrush interface could use some simplicity).
Or maybe zbrush will release a separate, low-end, cheap sculpting program… with the same core ideas (simple, straightforward) and maybe hope to get a more amateurish audience? This would probably mean a higher price tag for the regular zbrush… not good.
i tried scluptris a few days ago and i was amazed… im so glad to see how things will develope in pixologic
Use the reduce brush as you go to decimate areas that have become too dense, and don’t forget to experiment with the strength slider. Since learning these habits I have had no stability issues at all.
Ten years ago I could not have imagined ever using a “decimate” brush! It alone is worth the price of the program!
hoho!! this is Great!! 2 best softwares!! together
congrats
Huh, I though Thomas said it wasn’t for sale. Anyway, congrats man. Job well done.
The reduce brush rocks! Playing with it is an art form in itself. When I first started using it I did not think it worked very well. But you just need to get closer to the mesh and click from different angles.
awesome
This is GREAT news!
I find the subject of this thread misleading…

food for thought
awesome~
thx~
