Anyone error on Ati Cross Fire?
When I chek on Cross Fire I can’t use a Sculptris.
What’s a problem with my VGA?
Splendid
well at first congratulations to Tomas Pettersson who made this program.
In a naive way i wish that pixologic publish this program in the future as a 0$ or really low cost program so that many people can see what a great and user firendly company Pixologic could be.
In a more realistic way I think Zbrush could benefit a lot of the UI/GUi design that is in Sculptris…
IMO, a good introduction of sculptris technology will be a great benefit for ZBrush. Ok, you can subdivide to millions of polys in ZB, but Sculptris reaches to free the user from limitations bought by polygons adding detail where’s needed and allowing the user to add things even where he doesn’t have enough geometry. The UI is quite lovable too (even if Mudbox one remains the best one)
From what i’ve seen I think that Thomas is a great programmer he will help ZB to become even a better tool than what now is.
Wow! This was a shocker! Congratulations DrPetter on the great job opportunity. This is really awesome! I wish you all the best!
Too bad we will see sculptris go from a lightweight, free and fun program to something else.
The version 1.0 will no doubt be reasonably priced so as not to shock or anger the community.
By version 2 however it’ll have much heavier MB footprint, and be priced comparable to most professional 3D packages!
This is bittersweet, but such is life.
Kenjiro2000, put more details, like OS, drivers, etc… maybe someone could help you, but without enough info, is impossible.
Looks like sculptris scared some people. I now expect development of sculptris to be squashed or merged into zbrush 5( 6 years from now ). I like zbrush but this is just a sad day for me.
were you using this link ?

because this works…
@SeanJM : the last 3 interface pictures are looking very clean…i like this…
WOW, this is the best thing after Newtek CORE news!!!
6 years ??? nah that should happen in 1 -2 years
Just tried the latest sculptris and it’s freaking insane. FAST FAST FAST and you can paint textures too and BUMP! Better improvements compared to version 1 when it first came out! EXTREMELY Fluid!!!
It looks like that we can also retopologize the model !!!
That’s the best news after CORE!!!
When I saw sculptris I thought to myself “this tech would be a great addition to ZBrush” and there are aspects to the interface I like too.
Reading over some of the posts both positive and negative about how this could impact ZBrush…and I can only see good things.
But rather than integrating what Sculptris into ZB, I think its time for a ground up rebuild of ZB to take us into the next decade. Taking from the the experience’s from both Pixo and Thomas and all the feedback from over the years to create the next revolution in the creation of of 3d imagery, and now be able to take advantage of whats with that has changed with programing, industry standards and GPUs to a make even more intuitive and powerful package.
My 2 zcents

If you’re basing this assumption on the UI mock ups on the previous page, I’m sorry to disappoint you. No retopo tools or texture layers for that matter. Still, cool little program and I look forward to seeing it developed further or rolled into ZBrush. Either option sounds good to me.
You can download the sculptris program from the link on the first post.
I love those mock up UIs. I’d love to see zbrush that optimized interface wise. Hopefully the developer will be helping them create a new interface and use this tessellation feature for roughing out base models.
Hopefully pixologic will bring out a native Mac version of whatever there is coming with the next Sculptris release. Unfortunatelly my wine based mac apps doesn’t support the bump map painting …

No can’t retopologize AFAIK - but Sculptris is very capable sculpting app. It much easier to use then Mudbox/ZB/3DCoat at least for me
if pixologic is looking at UI redesign ideas, they should take some cues from luxology. easily the best interface i’ve ever worked with, and takes just seconds to customize it exactly the way you want it. It’s a great feeling not working within the developer’s “grid” and being able to maximize my personal workspace
I loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu PIXOLOGIC… N I LOVE ZBrush…Keep working…YOU ALL R ROCKING… GUYS;)
Wow,I have been fiddling with Sculptris since 2-3 months. After only first use of it, I knew it had tremendous potential. Now it has been absorbed by the giants themselves…I only wish that its for the better result…Don’t be like Autodesk Pixologic team.Alas a free program(untill now) is lost for ever…
Nice news! some cool stuff in this little program …played weith it for an hour and came up with this:
Some suggestions: Now that you work for pixo, could you make a version of the shortcut/interface control that is same as Zbrush…kind of hard to swap between the two lol
its a nice way to quickly do 3d concept and export them for retopo and sculpt in ZB
not very good when it comes to sculpting details without using teh pinch technique (like Mudbox)
if it has retopo tools as nice as 3dcoat…that would be insanely great:
cocnepting and retopo in scultpis, using a “GOzbrush” button to send teh result in zbrush and get seruious sculpting…NICE
o yeah, and is ther ehortographic views? can’t find any
Either way , Great news for pixo!
