I’m very excited to see what the future has in store for this awesome little app!
Hi everyone,
The Sculptis download link doesn’t work.
Any idea to help ?
Thanks in advance,
Weeks
Thanks a lot ShadowCaster
It works !
Best,
Weeks
Shouldn’t the mac version be coming out today!?! Please tell me I’m right.
Apple
No that’s ZBrush. Sculptris is being put through Pixologic’s mad scientist labs now. So hang tight, and expect some REALLY cool updates! Later…
Hackintosh - I prefer a the more intuitive and low maintenance of the two. Nothing beats working on a monstrous apple display. Thanks for your input though!
@dustbin1_uk: Thanks man, I own zBrush but finding the time to learn it all is slowly decreasing. I swore I thought I read it was yesterday but I can definitely wait.
I’m pretty dismayed (but not surprised) that Pixologic has acquired Sculptris. I’m a victim of Adobe Acquiring and abandoning Freehand, so I have a feeling I know where this is going. While Pixologic buys up and quietly smothers Scuptris, I hope they learn a little something about interface design, anyway
i don’t think that sentiment can apply to sculptris because unlike freehand which would of continued development to compete with illustrator, sculptris was pretty much completed and abandoned. so you weren’t gonna see any more of it than what you already got on your hands.
I have been using 3d modeling apps for a few years and never have I seen an app so intuitive and simple to understand and use as Sculptris.
Sculptris has enabled almost anyone to create 3d art/models ,of course Sculptris could probably have gone on to be a rival to the major sculpting apps but there again it would lose its simplicity and charm.
Sculptris the little 3.7mb giant that has captured the hearts of its users like no other IMO should stay as it is without further embelishment and remain free for ever.
i really like this little app. this is my last creation with it. though i am having trouble switching to paint mode.

With the announcement of Sculptris not really sure what that means.
Will it be part of some new ZBrush release or a physical update or separate plugin or unknown at this point?
I just started messing around with sculptris last month cuz Vlad from Second Life was harping about it & then I see this! I have to admit I was rather impressed with Sculptris! I personally didn’t find it to be very intuitive but then I only messed around with it a little bit. I have to admit it has a very simplified GUI unlike Zbrush’s entirely original & some what daunting GUI (Everyone knows what I’m talking about there, you all confused too when you first played with Zbrush). I’m glad to see the Z team pounced while the iron was hot & got Thomas before the competition did. He really is an amazing programmer & quite smart. He’s going to make a fine addition to the Z family & I’m glad he’s in with the rest of us now! Can’t wait to see how Pixologic utilizes his talent.
I like this lil app but check out the mesh as it reze’s up its all triangles, would be cooler if it did all quads. still i guess its a retop job for what ever your gona model with such a dense mesh. cool though.
here’s my next model. i’m finally figuring out how to paint and apply materials with it.
i’ve also been experimenting with macrea. it is really cool.
it amazes me how different materials can make the same image look so different.

Well I allways says, Zbrush is not so intuitive like Pixologic team says, and they change a lot of things between version. I Hope now can learn how to do the things more clear, simple and user friendly. (or at least make training kits).
But I understand, is dificult make a really great piece of software, correct all old version mistakes and make every single user happy.
Will have to give this a go, Thanks Pixologic:D
