3D Sketchbook of Zeno Pelgrims

Cheers man! Yeah you better keep an eye on me, cause I won’t stop stop sculpting anytime soon!

Gauthier is a happy man. He dreams about working in one of the most respected restaurants in Europe. However - he knows that everyone who wants to reach the top, has to start from the bottom. Because of this, he tries to do his current job - wrapping up happy meals - as perfect as possible.

Thank you David

Hey, very nice job, you’re strong :))!:+1:

Thought it might be cool to share the totalRawLighting pass. I just looooove looking at it!

good job ! :+1:

Quick render for a zbrush to Renderman for Maya I’m making. All pretty basic.

It’s been a while since I last posted here. Got lots of projects going on at the moment, so forgot to post some wips.

Excuse me for the bad compression - had to batch compress my images due to the zbrushcentral uploading policy…

Nice work! I really like the stylization! Good work.

Nice work! I love the making of video. Thanks for sharing!

Haven’t posted in ages over here! Time to get back on top of things.

Prepare yourself for a batch of images incoming!

A video about my sculpting workflows in ZBrush for my university friends:

Left behind elf vs troll project:

Didn’t properly plan it from the start and lost interest in it. I know that it***8217;s heading in the right direction, but can***8217;t figure out what exactly it***8217;s missing. It***8217;s something crucial.|
Might pick it back up later though!

Quick render of the girl just so I had to show something…

Zbrush screencap:

Composition as I left it behind:

A character concept I did for a university summer project. Had to drop out since it overlapped with my internship at MPC - good practice though.

And a quick sculptover for the same project. Pretty fun to find someone elses mistakes and try to correct them. It’s a good challenge to take on.

A quick and dirty head sculpt - think it was about an hour and half.

Then I started another project - It’s about a brave little kid which wants to defend it’s little medieval town from a dragon. But the dragon is still a kid as well and actually he just wants to play.

Concept sketch:

First sketch for the kiddo:

Did some body work for it as well:

Some more modeling work for the kiddo:

Testing out the composition with the dragon but it***8217;s incredibly hard to get a nice pose for it with the fisheye distortion.
The head appears to be massive because of it ***8211; I***8217;ll have to find a workaround for this.
When this is done I can start modeling all the details and do a lighting test.

Think I will redo the dragon in another pose. Like sitting on his bum or something. Think that could work!
Might also try to ‘fake’ the fisheye distortion by bending the whole scene manually with deformers.

How it is right now is definitely not ok yet…

But then we received the group project assignment here at uni… Which meant I had to freeze this project as well. I will definitely revisit it though - already spent too much time to throw it away!

First character sculpt:

After a bit of texturing:

Then I placed all the hair curves by hand… Man that was a pain. Should’ve used fibermesh for this.

I recorder a small tutorial on how I did these. Apart from being a slow process, it does give you a massive amount of control.
