…tutorial !
Oh mah lord.
After checking your Zskiff + Subtools video I came up with a pretty cool variation.
So I was modeling this dress that I wanted to give an embroidered feel to. So I brought in a Zskiff and started laying down x sym designs on top of the dress.
Then I used the Zproject brush to push the dress mesh into the shape of the Zskiff subtool. After transferring the details I deleted the Zskiffs entriely.
It worked out beautifully.
Anyway thanks for your inspiring and helpful vids.
big thanx
Thanks for the extra tutorials, exactly what I need to know.
Woah!!! As I was about to type this, they canged the top row to the new look! Nice!!!
Anyhow, I just had the most painful of head slapping moments!
Right before I hit myself for being a complete fool for not checking this, I said “WHAT!!! YOU CAN ZSCETCH ON EXISTING TOPOLOGY!!! NOOOOO WAAAAAAY!!!”
You are very welcome. A few users had commented on not being able to view veoh so I have made it a habit to have the videos available for download as well.
You are very welcome.
Yeah, i have been playing with ZProject for another video as well. Trying to find a workflow that yields the best results.
You are very welcome.
Yeah, zskiffs on subtools are a wonderful treat. So is the ZBC tweak.
I cant see the video, i listen you ok but probably is searching for some codec server…any tip
Thanks in advance

I stand by VLC. I use it to play everything but MP3s.
Sorry for my noobiness and ignorance but is Zskiff intended to make “blobby” models??? Or you can refine the marvelous works you show in here!!! If they can be refined could you show us some??? I mean some like your seahorse in Zskiff and then refined… What I really wanna know is: Is Zskiff a resource or a tool for optmizing a work or is it a goal for a finished work???
hey sevlarievlis really its more of a tool like all of zbrushes tools it can be used in conjunction with other tools to arrive at rough form… the plus side of sketch sphere is depending on how many sketch spheres are on your model its usually smaller in memory size in comparison to regular polygon meshes of med resolution… on the aspect of blobiness and structure it all depends on how much you refine the surface like in any aspect of zbrush when sculpting with polygons the more you refine the better the structure you will have… but really they are very useful for concepting and sketching out a rough mass of a form but also you get what you put in when using them so the different brushes for sketch sphere serve different purposes in terms of workflow…but as such the rough shape can then be turned in to a unified skin either low resolution version that shows the general mass or a high res version which shows a more detailed representation these are dependent on the unified skin resolution and also in conjunction with the subdiv levels these generated skins can then be further refined with all the 3d sculpting brushes and a whole host of new ones that were added in zbrush3.5 for hard surfaces to arrive at more refined piece… i hope that explains a little bit of how they are used… for in indepth explanation ryan has made some tutorials http://www.thegnomonworkshop.com/includes/bundles/rki_bundle.php explaining the use of sketch spheres or for those that have been here since the beginning “zskiffs”…
hey [Mahlikus](http://member.php?u=2520) good to hear that you will be bringing back <b><i>The Weekly Challenge</i></b> really looking forward to see what people do for them..
thanks for these quick tip videos looking forward to learning new things from these as they progress.. hope you are enjoying the endless possibilities of the Zskiffs in terms of shape and form block out so far they seem to have worked for me with both organic and hard surface forms.. im hoping that as updates become available they really add on to capabilities of what they can do and handle in terms of workflow..;)
i agree vlc is great for all types of video formats..:D:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:
Thanx Troy, it explains a lot!!!

thanks for another cool mat. i love chocolate, although this looks more like hersheys (yuck) i prefer cadbury’s.
now i’m thinking about that simpsons episode where homer dreams of the chocolate world.
about the MNC i had the thought of just doing MADBALLS (remember those?) now that zbrush starts with a sphere, i keep making things like that to warm up. of course its not very advanced or challenging, but could be fun eventually.
like your last piece, he must be a herbivore with eyes on the side of his head like that, wouldn’t want to see the predators on his planet.
