The program well worth it but a $100 bucks differnt can some times make people change there minds soooooo let them dip there finger in the 1.5 Demo Honney jar to get a taste of it so they will make up there mind Now and save them a $100.

Yeah but EZ people who like it are going to buy it regardless of the price (as long as it isn’t too high). It might just take them a little longer that’s all and it is quite common for demos of software (games and apps) not to be released until after the full versions are released. Most developers spend their time and energy on the full version and meeting those looming deadlines before turning to the demos.

correct but it seams the 1.5 will be out (along) with the price change.
now if you extended the Price changes AFTER it was out it would boost the sale up even more because then they could see what there getting and Plus Save $ 100 Bucks.

I would agree with some of that EZ but it doesn’t quite make sense to change the price AFTER the app is released. After all the price as it stands now is an introductory price. It is far easier to manage a marketing strategy when all elements are set to “zero” and are in equal standing from the outset. Introducing a fluctuating price structure to an otherwise finicky market has been in my experience a recipe for disaster. You release the new app with a new price tag and the conditional clause stating the terms of the introductory price along with an explanation for the execution of the regular price. If you introduce a new app at the old introductory price and then later raise that price you just make a few people mad. It is better to let all the players know the rules before hand so expectations are not endangered. I understand what you are saying but I do not believe Pixologic wishes to “bait and hook” anyone. I believe the software can prove itself on its own merits. And having witnessed all these new features Ofer has been kind enough to share with us I would say a price increase is merited. After all how long has the introductory price been in effect now?

by giving a demonstration along with a discount don’t you think that it would even bring in more sales then just a discount and it wouldn’t effect them but boost the sale up

Hey Pixolator the new interface looks incredible, really gives the program that professional look; I have one question. Been saving up for Z-Brush, and in a couple weeks i will have the money. When is the cut off date for being able to buy 1.23 for $300. Again the new interface looks absolutely incredible. Good luck at the shows, although I don’t think you’ll need it.

I currently only have the demo of Zbrush. I’m kind of confused, if I were to buy 1.23b now I would get next version free. I understand this.
My question is this, Is this new version 1.5 just an upgrade? Or will it stand alone by itself? I would like to be able to do a fresh install of this new version. I’m not a big fan of running upgrades over the top of a program.
Also will this 1.5 version already have Texture master and the material packs already installed?

Hi, Neoz. Good questions!
ZBrush upgrades have to date come in the form of fresh installs, and this one is no exception. It’s not a “patch” that’s installed over the top of 1.23b.
The way that upgrades have worked in the past, you install the new version and then copy your content folders (ZDocs, ZScripts, Import/Export, etc) across to the new version before simply deleting the old. Very quick and painless, and all the stability of a fresh install.
I’m afraid that I can’t answer the other question, though. Pixolator may say more.

Is 1.5 still gonna work at 1024x768? I have a very new 15" LCD/TV monitor combo that maxes out at that resolution so I hope so!
