Very much a wip. Plan on adding a lot mor detail…still in the experimental stage though;)
I’m trying to add more expression to my busts. This one is still very much a wip, all the textures are stand in’s at the moment. I started with a generic head mesh and modified it by creating a mouth. I downloaded the teeth from gnomology and modified them to be symetrical so I can edit them more efficiently later. Any comments/crits welcome…I’m not sure if I am being over critical of myself and want to find out what tweeks I could do. The texturing and finer details will come after I get the overall expression down. Thanks for looking!

What a difference a few minor changes can make! Time to go to sleep
I like where your going with this latest one…Nice stylization of forms, facial expression…mood and feeling…
I like the colors in the next up from the last one best…The greens and orange
goldish peach flesh colors go well together…
Puts me in mind of the paintings of an artist named Patrick Woodroffe
CHEERS:D
Spirit - thanks for the reply. I’m having a hard time finding a direction to take these pieces. I want to make them as original as possible but usually lack the focus to follow through. One step at a time I guess:D
Taking things in a totally different direction.

and you cant draw?? wow there might be hope for me then! awesome job man!
Thanks. Yep it’s true. I cannot draw anything with a three dimensional perspective at all really. I’ve always found 3D graphics infinitely easier though. I know having a 2D drawing for reference is a better way to go, but since I am doing this for fun it doesn’t matter as much anyhow. Of course Zbrush makes it all so easy to do the most amazing things. The more I toy with it, the more I find it can do!
yeah i feel you, i too cant draw anything in 3d i can draw ok front and side views but perspective always was my nemesis! its good to see that there are more people like me, especialy when those people can model such awesome pieces, gives me hope man! keep on doing what you´re doing!
Another minor update…still very much a WIP.
Experimenting with adding finer details. Never seem to have the time - real life, what a drag:)
Few minor changes. Fixed the buckle and started to experiment with the jacket. I’ve included an alpha brush for an open zipper for everyone to use, hope you find it useful.

Uguual…LOOKING GOOD THANKS FOR THE ZIP
I read that you couldn’t draw the figure in 3d perspective…The best book out there on that subject, just in case you may be interested, is …DYNAMIC FIGURE DRAWING by BURNE HOGARTH…You can get it on the internet at a good price…try ALIBRIS.COM…I think that’s the best book for what you have a hard time with, because he teaches the sculptors method of visulizing the the figure in deep space with forshortened volumes, and ALL of the basic princibles of drawing the human figure which will enable you to render the vision of the figure you see accurately in 2d so it appears to be 3d…same drawing method that Michelangelo was taught and used, and also all of the other great sculptors throughtout history.
A BOOK THAT IS WORTH IT’S WEIGHT IN GOLD…
Thanks for the tip, I’ll try and check it out!!
Giving this one a rest for a while…seem to have a creativity block going on.
I realy like the model!! good work, maybe its my monitor, but try a little less redish renders, make the skin more pale ?
Good work small_orange_diamond
small_orange_diamond
anigroove -Thanks, not sure whether it’s your monitor or mine:D Also I have only rendered it with the default light. I think it’s exaggerated with the lighter background and the shadowing from the one light. Maybe I’ll rerender it after I get off of work:(
Working with something a bit different… Real life constantly intrudes upon the fun stuff. Hopefully I’ll end up with something that will be considered top row;)
This is very much in the early stages, lots of stand in items. Need to work on clothes (wrinkles and whatnot).

Been a while since I’ve posted. Here’s another bust I’ve been doodling with, Galoot.
