Glad to see that the upcoming Zbrush got some awesome new features in its sleeve! Can’t wait to play around in Zbrush 2.5!
About all this Mudbox talk…
Everyone I know who betatests Mudbox keep telling me how easy the interface is. So that sounds now like MB’s big advantage, and do not underestimate that advantage, considering a lot of new potential customers will be adviced to choose Mudbox instead. Of course, MB’s price is not out in the open yet, and the price will be a determing factor for many.
Personally I do not find the zbrush interface difficult, but I admit it was a frightening sight the first time I laid eyes on this alien interface. I remember just thinking “why?”, why make it so different then anything else… I also think that in many ways it is a total waste of time for a customer to have to learn to do a lot of the basic things. I feel I mastered it quite quick, but I know a lot of people who just gave up, and I know more who are decent Zbrushers, but still have a lot of issues with the interface. Many of these people will probably switch to MB (again, if the price is right).
I did not try the previous version of Zbrush, but I’ve heard Zbrush2 got quite a drastic change of UI from the previous one. So I hope Pixologic dare to make such a drastic change again. There is a lot of real good things in the current Zbrush interface though, things like holding down control over buttons to get a description for instance… That is something other apps should pick up…
Strange, Do you mean it does not work?
I’m running XP64, and Zbrush works like a dream.
