I was thinking the same thing. We’re essentially DDOS’ing Pixologic.
Ooops, looks like registration is affected. Downloaded OK earlier today and thought I was safe, but registration times out…
EDIT successfully activated now… approx 1h later after a nerve-wrecking message that it had failed to activate due to something incomplete with my installation. But that was fortunately not correct, started OK. Puh!
Amusingly there is no option to select “Art” in the categories where you have to select one to complete registrations.
Ahhh!
Now I see, so basically its just doing a crappy job of scaling things up, that’s no fun at all. Like taking a 640x480 image and looking and stretching it to 1024x768. Right?
So basically Pixologic would have to redraw all of their icons and text, which I am guessing is static bitmaps, and then fit it back into an already built UI, or start from scratch?
yes you can deinstall the old versions but before you deinstall them
----make sure you deactivate them or you lose your license—or part off it.
hmm iff you have 2 versions alredy installed and running i seem to remember
that to activate the 3 one (this new one) you need to deactivate 1 off the oldones
to get its lisence …one is allowed to have 2 installed zbrush activated whit purchase off 1 zbrush licence.

Yes, exactly. Its kind of like a badly scaled image. And yes, Pixologic would have to up-res or redesign all its UI bits and pieces; perhaps they are waiting for version 5.
Now we can get back to swooning over the new features and complaining about overloaded registration servers!

Now I just deactivated 4r5 (i am running 4r6) .
It popped up with a code to give to pixologic and then DISAPEARED instantly.
So I have no deactivation code to give to get my activation code back…
Those of you waiting to register, you have successfully downloaded everything. This mean that while you wait for the servers to catch up you can read the documentation.
This can be found in your /PixoLogic/ZBrush4R7/ directory under /Documentation
This will keep you from pulling out your hair, eating your fingernails and bludgeoning your reload button to death.
And you might know how to do new thing BEFORE you get to actually do them!
