so i’m wondering if it’s possible to accidently buy keyshot for zbrush without getting the bridge that connects the two programs. if that’s the case that might explain my missing license file. I paid $200 bucks so maybe we’re supposed to buy the bridge also? I was under the impression that the bridge was for people that already owned keyshot. That store page was confusing to say the least. This seems like a complete $#%#Q$^%#$%up. Anyone else in the same boat?

Yes you need to add both in your Shopping car. The store will adjust the Price down to $249. And yes für $200 you only got Keyshot for ZBrush.

Hi maghbitu, yes, I’m in exactly the same situation.
i have both ZBrush and keyshot installed and licensed, but no bridge license. At no point was I offered one to download either. I’ve no idea what’s going on except I’m getting more than a little ticked off with every passing minute. I’ve opened a ticket with luxion, but they won’t be in a hurry to get back to me.
I agree that the store was quite confusing, but on the email that came with my keyshot purchase it said that the bridge is automatically installed. I will post here with any news of a fix. Good luck!

edit: so, it appears according to Dranix, I’ve messed up and not bundled the bridge and keyshot together at the time of purchase. This wasn’t made completely clear. So I’m gonna have to now buy the bridge separately. Great. Thanks for that.
why there wasn’t a one click ‘purchase the bridge and keyshot for mac osx here’ link I don’t know.

According to the FAQ on the first page if you purchase KeyShot for ZBrush you need to purchase the bridge.

Q: What are the full details regarding KeyShot for ZBrush?
A: This is a special version of KeyShot 5 HD. It includes all the features of KeyShot HD but has the extra advantage of unlimited render resolution. It also cannot import OBJ models or any other format. It can only import via the ZBrush to KeyShot Bridge (ZBridge).

The bridge is separate since you can use it with other versions of KeyShot. I’m guessing it’s not bundled with KeyShot for ZBrush since you might purchase KeyShot for ZBrush later on having purchased the bridge previously for another version of KeyShot.

Since you haven’t got it, how is it that you are successfully being disappointed by it?
Its a strange sort of twisted logic you have going there, but it could be applied to all sorts of things.
I suppose Im disappointed that I didn’t get over Ebola after not contracting it.

By the way, what is this “retina” thing you are talking about? Googling it brings up stuff about eyes and fancy monitors.

As I indicated, I have the app, have launched it, so I can see the UI, and am waiting for the registration servers to return an activation code.

Retina support is the refactoring of UI elements to take into account Hi-DPI displays. These are supported on MacOS and Windows now, and most of the pro apps I use (Adobe Suite, Cinema4D, etc.) render text and UI elements (icons etc.) at native resolution on a retina-class display. Apps that don’t (Maya, Zbrush) look pixelly and “old” in comparison. For instance, the kind of crummy looking aliased text in all of Zbrush’s button UI elements. Its not a huge deal, more of a nice-to-have, but since Hi-DPI displays are the future, zBrush will have to get there eventually.

Zelipse - good to know someone else has the same problem. Dranix seems to think we both messed up and didn’t buy the bridge like we were supposed to. And here I thought Pixo lowered the price to only $200. Why would they give us the option to buy Keyshot without the bridge I have know idea? Sucks the store is ds now, but at least we know the problem.

Moderator’s Note: It’s a limit of the shopping cart system. Each product only allows one serial number, so there have to be two products. We can’t have a single product called “Bundle” or some such. And the shopping cart doesn’t allow us to automatically add a second product when you put the first one in your cart.

Submit a Support ticket so that our sales staff can handle getting the Bridge to you at the discounted price.

I have purchased Keyshot so now have both installed, 4R7, but am unable to web activate and the activation phone line is only taking messages. I think I have hit the “reload” button over 200 times so far. Maybe Pixologic needs a new way of activating. No fun to have the product and not be able to open it.

Maybe it should allow you to run it for 3 or 4 days, as in a demo but full-functioning mode, while you are trying to activate.

Understandable but still a bit frustrating…knowing that hundreds if not multiples of that are feeling this same predicament. And please don’t reply with some wisdom and sage-like post that I (we) must be patient. Road rage or activation rage hits us all at one time or another and while it is encompassing you any type of consoling only adds to the rage…it doesn’t diminish it one bit even though those preaching the wisdom are only trying to help.

It does help, a teensy-weensy bit, to be able to express it here.

I have a normal resolution monitor and ZBrush looks great.
I find it sort of odd that something that looks good at normal resolution would look bad on something with higher resolution, smaller maybe, but it should be better looking.
You have me confused here, what is it doing? doubling the pixels so you can see or something?

@MealeaYing : Yes OSX/iOS does pixeldoubling for non HiDPI-applications to maintain the size of ist GUI on HiDPI-Screens.

Moderator’s Note: The ZBrush to KeyShot Bridge is preinstalled, meaning that you don’t need to download it separately and run yet another installer. But it must still be activated and that requires the purchase of a license for it.

Edit: Ok, the first link I have is to 'generate and download license." Then links to Keyshot download and bonus content installer.

If you paid full price for Keyshot, maybe you could contact the Keyshot guys and tell them what happened? They could refund your money and you could just get the bridge.
