ZBrush 4R7: Released!

Weird that so many have issues. I bought bridge/keyshot yesterday morning and immediately received an email with all the download and license links… Spent a couple hours messing around with it last night. Fun fun. My only complaint so far is that I do seem to be having quite a few crashes within 4r7 (64bit)…

Jan19 I am one of those who purchased only the $200 Keyshot for Zbrush and not the Bridge…so I had to submit a ticket on Thirsday morning to have them get me squared away with the bundle special. I too have not heard anything regarding my ticket either. Luckily I will be flying home to Hawaii all day tomorrow so I will not be able to check my emails…I have 14 hours of flying so I hope that on Wednesday I will have heard something so I can finally try Keyshot.

After three days everything seems to be working. Thanks to Pixologic and the folks in the forum for all the help!

There seems to be some confusion about where to download Keyshot for ZBrush, and how to set it up.

First, download Keyshot for ZBrush from the link I posted earlier. When you install Keyshot for ZBrush, use the serial number Pixologic sent you to activate it, not the licence file. The licence file is only for the Bridge, not the actual Keyshot for ZBrush program.

With Keyshot open, fire up ZBrush and open the project you want to render in Keyshot. The BPR (or Shift+R) button is what sends the render to Keyshot, provided that you have selected Keyshot as your render option (Render>External Renderer>Keyshot). If you don’t have Keyshot selected, your render will be done as a BPR in ZBrush.

Jan19 mentioned something a few posts back, but I think it’s worth repeating since I had no idea this was happening until today. DO NOT reply to your support ticket or any emails you get from support. I found out today that every time I replied to the email I got from support, I was bumping myself back to the back of the line. I would have probably received my download links a lot sooner if I had never replied. So everybody just sit tight and wait. You will get your download links eventually.

Thanks, Cad64.

I replied to my Support Ticket, also, giving an elaboration and further information that I thought might be pertinent. Like the order #. Maybe that’s why I’m still waiting, too.

Have a safe trip, michaelws. Surely, by Wednesday, you’ll be squared away. Thanks for letting me know you’re still waiting. Again, condolences on your loss.

ironomen – :+1: Glad you’re up and running!

I am ready to buy 4r7 for the first time. I skimmed through this thread and understand that there is a delay for Keyshot download/activation etc. which I’m not really interested in.

My question simply is: Will I have to wait for a download link and/or a licence to activate after purchasing Zbrush 4r7 alone?

I mean I can wait some more before I make a purchase but I prefer not to after paying

Cheers and thanks.

Jan, did you buy the Keyshot package? Just wondering, and there are too many pages of posts for me to read back through to find out.

@jan19: I’ve never replyed to my ticket and still waiting. We are near 4business days (if we don’t count the week-end).
It was a gift for myself because the 29th january was my birthday and I failed… I think my birthday was not my day because my best girlfriend also send me a gift that was written ‘parcel delivered on my mailbox’ but never received anything.
I prefer to laugh at it even if all this annoys me.

No, I’m harum scarum, I guess. I saw Win, Mac, and Cross Platform on that Bridge Plug In page, and chose Win. So technically, I just bought the bridge. The 149 was confusing, but I didn’t know if’d mis-read the price/charge or what.

What’s strange is, I got links to the Bridge Activation, Keyshot for ZB, and a serial # – that I used to generate an activation key. I thought the failure to activate was because the servers were crashed, so I really didn’t realize I was totally off base until someone here at the forum told me what I’d done wrong.

And the site was down, so my Support ticket didn’t go thru till Thurs afternoon.

I’ve been tempted to just buy Keyshot separately, but I don’t think that’ll work either, at this point. Besides, honestly, I only got the Keyshot bundle because the price was right. Being a Quixel lover, I know I’ll keep using Marmoset TB, also, for final renders.

But once I decided to get KS, I got kind of excited, so this everlasting wait is a genuine buzz kill. I will not gripe, though, I absolutely will not.

Well, happy birthday! I’m sorry about your gift. And yes, the only way to deal with frustration is to laugh because…well, there’s nothing else we can do. Nothing healthy, anyhow.

I hope your gf manages to trace the parcel!

On my site I have got second mail from Support telling me to reply if I still have not my downloads links.
I checked my ticket status on Support and it was marked as “Waiting for user response” (or something like this),
so I replied to the second mail that I’m still awaiting and got no link. After that I checked my ticket status and it changed
to “Open”.
Finally, yesterday I got my link to downloads and now all is installed, activated and working.

So maybe it is worth to checking yours ticked status before you decide to reply or not for the mail from Support
for if they waiting for your response it may be important for them to take action in yours cases.

It’s my point of view, but may be I’m wrong

One thing to take care - the serial number to Keyshot has wrong pattern it should be XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX

@Jan19 : Thanks, Amazon is investigating to know what’s happened.

Have to ask, in the Zbrush Content for Key Shot there are some truly excellent “Environments” (hdri).
Did they originate with Zbrush or KeyShot?
If Zbrush, who?
Years ago sets of these would cost as much as the program:D

I know it says in the email you get from support that you should reply if you don’t have your links, but I would advise against it. I was told by the support manager that every time I replied I was kicking myself back to the end of the line. Obviously, you can reply if you feel it’s necessary, but in my case it was just delaying the delivery of my download links.

Anyway, I got Keyshot downloaded and installed last night. Everything went smoothly and trouble free, thanks to the advice given in this thread about renaming the license file. That bit of information is not provided anywhere in the installation instructions, or at least I didn’t see it anywhere. So thanks to everyone posting in this thread.

ZModeler is great.
I wonder if it is possible to isolate ZModeler menu that shows up when I press space bar (or right mouse click) so that I can customize to place it in a shelf or somewhere for accessing with ease.

Yes – the original serial # I got wouldn’t fit the Keyshot slots, but it did generate an activation code.

I keep checking, but my status is “open,” also. And I am the last replier.

I hope every time I log on and check that ticket, it doesn’t bump it back!

I don’t know if this happens for y’all (excuse me, y’all is common speech in this neck of the woods), but if I log into Support, I’m logged into the Pixo Store, also. I have to log out of the Store separately every time I log out of Support.

If that matters.

Thanks for the updates, you guys. At least I know I’m not alone. Maybe some of this will be resolved today.

Mac upgrade 4R6 to 4R7 does not work. 4 days with no reply to my ticket.
Nice job Pixologic.

Ooh, don’t say anything bad, you’ll get moaned at like I did.

Now over four days and counting for ZBrush Keyshot and bridge. How much slack do I need to cut them again?

I’m trying out nano mesh and array mesh right now. Fantastic stuff. Many thanks.

Such a joy to push pull polys and edges in ZBrush. Oh the JOY. I will never miss SketchUp again.

I didn’t buy Keyshot a luxury class renderer which doesn’t do animation. Held my breathe waited for the download frenzy to be over and just installed 4R7 an hour ago, activation no drama, 90% of my fav plugins work in 64bit too! Custom UI and hotkeys all ported over! Some minor glitches here and there but hello it’s a miracle 4R7 works out of the box given the amount of additions!

So happy just extruding lil cubes here and multi-panels there I can cry. I love you ZBrush makers!!!

Okay enough gushing back to playing…
