I’m just glad they finally added fbx import/export, though acording to the description, it doesn’t translate zsphere rigs, so still no skeleton import/export. Guess i’ll have to wait until i can actually download and install it before i find out what fbx version it is (probably 2015, modo is still on 2013 for some reason)
Well, on the bright side, I can now subdivide up to 64 million polygons, it seems.
I can’t even decipher the number allowed when I hit HD, on 4R7, 64 bit. My brain doesn’t read numbers that big.
One click arrays…one click edge loops…I kinda like this!
I know…I’m not helping.
People don’t read… KeyShot for ZBrush is a separate product in the Pixologic store. It does NOT include the ZBrush to KeyShot Bridge. To receive the discounted bundle price of $249 for both the ZBrush to KeyShot Bridge and KeyShot for ZBrush you must add BOTH products to your shopping cart in the store. You will then see the discounted price of USD 249 when you check out.
how can you activate it? register page cannot be opened for 30 mins.
Funny I DID read. Not far enough apparently. Cut me some slack…it’s been a long day…
Thank you for clearing that up though!

We wait and sneak in at a lucky moment.

Me, too. I’m gonna see what’s in the ol’ joy juice jug.
I downloaded, installed and activated it early this morning with no problems at all. Later I decided to deactivate it so that I could put it on my laptop. It deactivated but wasn’t able to connect to the internet and now I cant use it on either machine.
I did manage to have a little session with it and it’s AWESOME. Zmodeler is even better and easier to use than I thought it would be and keyshot bridge works like a dream. Cant wait to get back on it.
I think the license allows zbrush use on 2 machines, bit late to state that but thought I would mention it.
It does - The big question is: Is that right for Keyshot4ZBrush, too?
Folks, a couple common points seem to be popping up repeatedly.
-
Always disable any antivirus before doing any Zbrush installation procedures. It has always caused issues.
-
Per the original page, you have to select BOTH the ZBridge (zbrush to keyshot bridge) and Keyshot for Zbrush, two different things, in your shopping cart to recieve the discounted price (USD 249) at checkout. If you want both parts of the bundle, and are paying any price other than 249 USD, something isn’t correct.
I know it’s difficult after all the waiting, but you might want to consider waiting just a few hours more or even another day to try and do all this stuff when so many people aren’t hammering Pixologic’s servers at once to get at all the R7 goodness. It’s worth it!
I look forward to seeing what everyone does with this massive increase in Zbrush potential!
Sad, can’t wait for pixos server anymore due to work.
Wouldn’t had time to play with it anyway today (but I would, for sure) so I will wait until the rush is over.
Purchasing something on a almost blowing server is no fun too.
I’ll try this keyshot bundle for sure.
Hope it’s some time available.
Looking forward to it, guys.
Gonna be a blast I am sure
Have now been waiting 8 hours and counting for the activation site to come up, it’s 2015… you can do better than this, can’t you? Not impressed.
Yeah, finally got it downloaded and installed (Mac OS 10.7.5), but it doesn’t even launch!
Use to be the program would launch, and THEN the Acitvation screen would pop up. Hope there isn’t some problem. I didn’t want to read through all these pages to find out.
Will keep trying……
DON’T USE ZMODELR BRUSH/ EDGE LOOP /SPLIN, BECAUSE IT WILL CRASH IT…i HAVE TRIED IT 10 TIMES
Does not launch for me either. OSX 10.9
Sadly the link in my email to get to the upgrade just times out. Got to wonder if all the hype was worth it when the servers can’t cope… BUT, as an OSX user it might be a blessing in disguise!
Crashes with the the spin edge function are usually tied to tiny bits of extraneous or hidden geometry it is possible to inadvertently create with some of the other functions. Tiny, almost invisible ploygons that appear to be single edge, for instance. Every time I’ve gotten one of those crashes, I’ve found extraneous geometry in the problem area by deleting polygons and reconstructing it.
For instance, don’t use the slice function to split partially visible polygons, and go over the edge of the visible polygons. It will create such problematic geometry when everything is visible again.
It is important to remember that Zbrush does not support N-gons. Therefore every operation MUST result in a quad, and will be forced to do so. It takes a bit of adjustment, but once you understand this, you can avoid many problematic actions.
i will love (and i hope so) the Gem Team will open/concentrate the tutorials/tips/trick in an special thread so we can learn from others and can reproduce or not some presumed errors, specially with the 64v.

Generally, people only crash servers when a lot of them do, in fact, deem a product to be worth the hype.
Patience. We’ve waited this long, and within the next 24 hours most people will be sorted.
