ZBrush 4R2 Unleashed!

Pretty much. Once again the pirates will be using it before I can. I wouldn’t be as annoyed if I did not need dynamesh for something I am doing right now. :frowning:

then it really would be just like working with clay…except you wouldn’t need to wash your hands afterwards

then in z brush 6 they could introduce the “electronic clay” peripheral thats just like working with clay. including needing to be kept wet and ruining all your clothes.

Whats the betting I get my unused pc license before my mac license when I do finally get an email. Last time I got them separately. Hope they just send them both together in one email.

Cleverbridge doesn’t seem to be that clever then, in 5 years or 10 years time we are going to be waiting 2 to 4 weeks just to get a code activation email for the software. Cleverbridge should be resigned to the dustbin especially if users are going to paying for future updates. If things do change we will wonder why the **** they didn’t do it years ago, and you don’t need to be clever to easily find dodgy versions on the net. Why penilise your paying customers with antiquated software technology when you could use secure encripted licensing technology instead.

this is more entertaining. it’s like winning a prize. i was just thinking the level of rage has been much reduced compared to last time

Yuuuup!

anyone have their r2 yet?

was wondering if bringing in sculptris meshes and dynameshing would convert to all quads!

and now that the docs are up, it is interesting to see that dynamesh is a manual remeshing, not automatic. which is fine but not something that was discernible from the vids.

but for sculpting at least, especially with the notion that dynamesh is primarily for low to mid range levels of detail, sculptris is still a very viable companion tool.

If CleverBridge were clever - they could use the Amazon Compute cloud to handle the huge spike in demand.

It is designed to be used for situations like this - infrastructure on demand.

Dear CleverBridge,
Here is the link http://aws.amazon.com/.
Learn it, use it, love it.
Welcome to the future.

Sincerely,

I’m excited about Zbrush’s new features. However, what i’m really hoping for is some stability/usability improvements on the features it already has.

Also still patiently waiting… driving me crazy looking at all the new Dynamesh sculpts from everyone that I cant use yet!!

Remesh has always been able to remesh an all quads mesh whatever you throw at it…is the way voxels work regardless of the input topology… Dynamesh being based on the same principle should be able to do so u dont need to wait for Z4R2 to do this…just import your sculptris mesh and remesh it…

Now the real question in this is why the heck would you like to do that? the locally subdivided triangulated mesh coming from Sculptris is by definition better than an all quad mesh…

Now it might be an “all quad” mesh still doesnt guarantee you an animation friendly mesh at all…

So basically you have 2 cases…you are just sculpting for concept in which case nobody cares iif ts an all quad mesh or
You are retopologizing for rigging in which case remesh wont help despite been all quads because there is no flow to it…its grid like.

You ever try to sculpt on Sculptris tri mesh , or any kind of tris for that matter, in Zbrush? If you had, I dont think you’d be asking that.

yAnyone know if they fixed automasking by cavity in the brush menu? It looks like the did from the vids and such I can find online. But I’d like to know for sure. I miss that feature. I know, I know, I can mask it by cavity and then paint, but having it do it for me was a nice time saver.

Give it a couple days, and people will be eating their young. Anyone can make it 24 hours. By the end of the week the people who’ve been watching everyone else get their copy while they are still empty handed will be considering looting.

I’ve got my cinder block ready.

Yeah, I feel your pain two fold. I just crippled my Z4 and, not even the reinstall worked. Such a sad clown I am. Hope to get my copy soon. Just rendered this in Z4 Yesterday and I am wicked excited. My new comp burned throughthis render animation in under an hour! 8 cores of Micro Monkey Fun!

PS - The render was 4X this posted size at 24 fps with bpr.

PPS - I would give you polygon specs but, alas, I have no Z. :frowning:

Maybe Cleverbridge should hire Cleverbot to respond to some of these posts.

hobbyists have the edge. boredom can be alleviated with random tooling around in zbrush.

what the hell that is i dont know but the shagpile probably develops quite the charge

Have you submitted a Support ticket? We should be able to get you taken care of there.

Here is an idea to the pixologic team:

Have paid priority downloads. That way those of us who don’t want to wait a week to get the release and who need the software sooner can pay and jump the line and those are that alright with waiting can wait and get it for free. That way everybody is happy.

Ironically, I bought Zbrush 4 yesterday! If I’d waited one more day I’d be R2ing already. I’ve was using the trial version-which expired yesterday. Ah well- by the 27th I should be happier! BTW: I love this program.
