Improved Layers! thanks pixologic! the project saving sounds excellent too. bring on Z4.
Sound like a whole host of awesome is on the way. Thanks for the info KPtoons.
I was very impressed by shadowbox ( I am still figuring out what i can do with it) and I think it is okay to be impressed and be overwhelmed with the pure awesomeness of new features. Eventually things become commonplace but let’s enjoy this fully now. I am just a 3d hobbyist whose real work is graphic design and advertising. I avoided going into 3d as a profession because i couldn’t wrap my head around the way 3d work was done. It was beyond my grasp. Now ZBrush is emerging as a game changer and I am feeling compelled to give 3d more serious consideration.
I could never do polygonal modeling, extruding, pushing points, edgeloops…pah , regrettably it just didn’t appeal to me. I am hoping that Z4 will make retopology more intuitive and i can both sculpt and create production ready models that are animatable. I just wish the innovation reflected in Shadowbox enters retopology too. waiting eagerly for more videos. i just feel high and pleased nowadays going through my everyday life.
Was it the same layer integration like in the Sculpting Layers ? Are they shared across Subtools ?
Would you be happy if it did? Or would you complain that such a feature had no place in a sculpting program?
For some reason I suspect the later…
I probably missed it, but since there is layers for polypainting. Is there any word about pixel painting?
This is a really needed feature and something I’ve really appreciated when using 3D Coat. It’s nice to just carry on from where you left off.
Sounds great
ANy news on the retopology front ?
touche
amazing thank you Zbrush! looks like a whole bunch of new techniques to help me become the artist i never knew i could be you guys are simply amazing! x
realy cool
Day two, so I’m hoping we get a full feature list Shadowbox will serious help with a project I’m doing right now and I really hop that retopology gets refined.
I’m really excited to get all the details even though I get my hands on the actual release in a few weeks.
You know, this is one of those things that might seem boring compared to all the flashy stuff like Shadowbox and paint layers (which are, to be fair, great additions), but I’m really glad that Pixologic are devoting some attention to basic workflow-related things like this. I’ve been using ZBrush for ten years, and I still find the whole “your project is a tool” paradigm to be incredibly clunky. Something as simple as the ability to save the thing you are working on and then come back to it just as it was when you saved it is a VERY welcome addition.
Hee --> Super News you are the greatest,
because other companies can sometimes cut ne corner, respect!!! small_orange_diamond

I hope and pray for painting layer
thank you
AGREED! When i teach or talk to someone about ZBrush i get the question on that alot. “Save Project” will be great to have!! The animation-like timeline? Can’t wait to see more on that…it’s limitations. Layers Polypainting…oh yeah, very nice indeed. Come on Pixolator…it’s a new day…how about another video? pretty please?!?
Wow! Looks great! My organic modelling kind of sucks, but each new release has had me using Zbrush for more and more different things. It’s now much easier for me to prouce something organic that is passable as a distraction from hard surface modelling and writing and … all the other things I’m meant to be doing… great!
Thank you for the details.
Is there blend modes (overlay, multiplay, etc etc) in Zbrush too?
Thanks for the info. And, of course, thanks Pixologic, you guys only provide good surprises.
I think I speak for everybody if I say
