At least, it proves that despite the complaints, ZBrush is still very much loved, you don’t wait so impatiently for something you don’t care about
I’m not worried about having to wait. My main worry is that I won’t get an email.
I own both the Mac and Win versions of ZBrush. Is there a date or will they announce when they’ve sent out all emails to registered owners so that I can know if I got missed?
I have my support account info filled out with serial #'s for both versions. I should be ok I figure.
Is it my imagination, or did I see an actual working transparency shader in the ZBrush 4 gallery? It would be great to be able to have a transparency shader!

- I would hazard a guess at yes(?) ZB4 has SSS shaders, which is a complex transparency, basically.
its that day, the day when the fight between mac and windows users stops for good (i hope ).
looking forward to seeing the full feature list and some new vids. im not expecting any download emails for a few hours yet so its all good.
that just leaves me to say one thing HAPPY 10TH BIRTHDAY PIXOLOGIC

Long ways to go guys… typically Pixologic releases late on the day of release. I seriously won’t be surprised if we don’t start seeing anything until tomorrow. I think Z3 was this way.
I could be wrong and I certainly hope I am.
Just a suggestion for everyone, While everyone is waiting patiently why not write out some of your ‘why is ZBrush 5 not here yet?’ posts in your favourite text editor and they will be ready for next week. :lol:

All of the releases up til now have been a mess which is the only bad thing I have to say about Pixologic in the time I’ve been a customer (over 2 years).
I’m really hoping that at some point Pixologic learns from history and overtime improves the release process. Let’s hope today is the first step in that process.
1stand10: Yeah but at least they are not greedy jerks like Adobe and put out a new Photoshop CS# “whatever” with just a couple of new lame features every year. CS4 runs like crap too. I am grateful that Pixologic gives us a free upgrade with useful new features. Thanks Pixologic!
Adobe is like the “Madden” of graphic software.
Hopefully with the new spotlight I can stay in Zbrush longer without going to Photoshop so often. Wheeeeee! Can’t wait to check it out.

First post says they are releasing it in batches over a few days, which is how they did it last time. Some might get it tonight, some might get in Wednesday. That’s life.

Yeah, uh, only for people who don’t download updates or run the latest drivers. It runs perfectly for me.
Pixologic, this will be a week that I remember for a long time. Not only is my unit returning home from my first deployment in Iraq; I have the long thought ephemeral yet mighty ZB4 to make the longest week of my life even longer.
Thank you for making the best damn software I’ve ever used.

I know it’s gonna be cool to get to play with all the shiny new features of Z4 but I seriously doubt if z4 will be anything but a toy for the time being, and I don’t think anyone is going to put it into their production pipeline until it’s properly tested
So do like me, find your happy place, calm down and as Buddah or my granny or someone used to say “A watched kettle never boils” :lol:
