ZBrush 4.0 Purchase and Upgrade Schedule

curses!!!, me and my ridiculous enthusiasm to find any single nugget on this new awesomeness headed our way… sorry for both feeble false alarms guys!

I don’t think anyone has posted this before.

It’s a neat little demo of the Zbrush 4 beta’s animation feature.

I did see briefly that there is no need to make a 2x sized document anymore as the AA is much better.

Also the new renderer will render in passes, and let you export them individually including AO, color, shadow, etc.

That combined with animation may mean I can produce my first demo reel completely in Zbrush!

Found these pics, looks quite cool stuff, done in Zbrush 4 beta.

Well I guess I will ask. Did anybody see or hear anything about improvements to retopology tools?

Cheers

ezewuster - It doesnt say that topology was changed anyhow. Sze will use new brush with some topology techniques - so it can be just as well technique using topology as is in ZB3.5. Just saying.

People are confirming no connexion support :frowning:

thats right, no 3dconnexion support… but the 3dconnexion people at siggraph did say they were meeting with pixologic again… Hopefully once ZB4 is done, they will find the time to give us 3dconnexion support real quick before starting on their next installment to the program.

Personally I thought the first time that I saw the painting poly groups with the smooth edges that that was a hint that topology would be changed. In fact I actually thought in my dream world we would be able to paint loops on the model using polypaint and zbrush would do all the in between stuff. In actual fact pretty close to what another 3d app is currently trying to add.

I’m guessing either they didn’t show everything at Siggraph or there are no real changes in the topology tools. Doesn’t matter really I guess as I also own said other app. Still I’m certainly not complaining as I am really looking forward to using the new tools already announced.

Amazing!! It is just getting better and better.

Any news about the stability of this version on the Mac from beta testers? 3.2 at the moment is a constant crashopalypse. In fact I’m typing this between crashes.

Also, are all the 2.5D brushes working now (blur, colorize etc)?

Apart from those worries, all the new stuff sounds brilliant to me. I’m really looking forward to this release.

I think they will have both Mac and PC versions in great working order for 8 August (as bug free as their beta program could get)

I can imagine that Pixologic are working flat out at the moment for the ZBrush4 release date, with big updates to the website to keep everyone happy when it is released.

  • Getting Started Tutorials
  • New Feature Tutorials
  • new/updated Plugin Tutorials plus (new plugin pdf manuals)
  • maybe some new Artist Tutorials

Download Centre updates = new texture/materials/objects

We might get some more video teasers in the next week, but I think a lot of peoples specific questions unfortunately might only be answered on or after its release.

I purchased the software last week (so I haven’t got long to wrestle and get to grips with v3.5r3)

This forum is one of the best original features of ZBrush (daily updates)

64 bit support and a flawless displacement/normal exporter is all I need.

I mean I subdivided to 131 million polygons on mudbox and on Zbrush it is getting pretty slow at 12 million.

64 bit!

that doesn’t sound quite right. last time I checked Zbrush could handle more polys than Mudbox. but maybe I’m wrong? can anybody input who works with both recent version?

and no… I don’t want to start a Mudbox vs Zbrush discussion again. Just thinking that maybe something might be wrong with Leffa’s setup?

Please keep your discussions on the subject of ZBrush 4. If you wish to discuss other applications, please do so in the Community Forum.

Thanks. :)

1 week/3 days til release…wonder if we will see any new videos of? Or hints to other new features…?? OFFICIALLy that is…huh? I think that should be PLENTY o’ TIME to show a new video each day for all the LITTLE features that are coming? Dont you? PIXOLATOR? Maybe next week will be full of them.
