I paid about $600 dollars two weeks ago for this free update. I am just worried that when when we start raising support tickets the servers will melt down again thats all. As someone noted some pages back it would be nice to know if we are in the final round.small_orange_diamond

as an old,very old user i just suggest calm and relax, just be patientâŚi have been spending this time looking at the FAQ forum, reading the guide, traying to answer the questions, looking the videos over and over,learning and waiting for tomorrow when they have stipulated to send the email notification for those like me that have changed their primary emailâŚWe dont make anything been rush so relax friendsâŚwait the gem:D
Donât want to be rude, but I donât think we should calm down and relax. I just bought a new license, paid the 600 bucks, and nothing yet.
This is the first time I buy something online and donât receive my merchandise, or at least updates on the delivery status.
ZBrush is a truly great software, and itâs definitely worth the price, but to leave us waiting like this is a total lack of respect for their customers.
I am very disappointed with the experience.
calm down, u havent lost any money. maybe something was wrong with your email. have you checked your spam folder yet?
send a support ticket later and you will get your license, so no need to worry.
you can make nice things with zbruhsh 3.5 so use the time to learn it or making nice things with it. zb4 is a good update but not as special as 3.0 to 3.5.
I wonder why they took down the ability to download the previous version on Monday, would be nice to at least have that while I wait. Filled out a ticket Friday, but havenât heard anything from that either.
So now what do we do??? Three days after you anticipated the last email was to be sent and a bunch of people still have not received an email?
Also can I please beg you to change the way you update? The ZB update process has always been a complete horror. Can you please incorporate Bit torrent or something like it.
The emails were slowed down and the âlast dayâ was updated to Sunday rather than Friday. I donât think this was put back further.
I finally got my e-mail this morning (UK time), which would have made it late Sunday night in LA so I figured I was one of the very last.
Hope thereâs not too many of you without your upgrade e-mail and if there are I hope you get it sorted quickly. I know your pain⌠itâs an excruciating wait.
Maybe they should have pushed it back more since there are a bunch of people that have not received an email yet or at least some information about whats going. Oh well just have to wait it out a bit longer. Iâm sure they are doing everything they can.
Is it just me or is this just about the worst upgrade process ever invented? Donât get me wrong I think Pix is a great company but where ever the bottle neck is in this process should have been fixed by now do you think?
I havenât received mine either. Itâs not a great process but there are a ton of users and itâs better than what happens with Maxwell, where the servers are basically just dead for three days. At least people are managing to actually download and people arenât constantly hitting refresh to no avail, and further compounding the problem. Theyâll probably look into server upgrades to avoid this long delay in the future.
I can understand why the process is problematic - itâs a free upgrade and so everyone is clambering to get it from day one, whereas it might be more spread out if people had to pay $150 for the upgrade.
For me, the problem wasnât waiting a week - the problem was not knowing if there was an issue with my account which might mean I wouldnât get the mail at all. As someone who hasnât been through this process before, I found it quite frustrating.
As people have said, itâs not a complaint at Pixologic as a company (nor is ungratefulness) - to me as a new user they are a breath of fresh air the way they go about things. But, we are all human and weâre all so desperate to get our hands on ZBrush 4 because it looks so good⌠and people are bound to be chomping at the bit.

They really need to beta test the distribution process. Itâs silly such a great piece of software gets tainted. It should be âwhat a graet upgradeâ not âwhat a great upgrade, but it sure is a hassle getting it installed and registered.â
Why donât they do a pre-release email. Basically the same process as the real update, but you have to download a dummy file that you register like the real thing. You have to do this to enable the real distribution.
Do this a few weeks in advance and they will have a heads up on the server loading and any email/serial number problems (they can fix those before the main distribution.)
Yes, another hurdle, but finding out your serial number or email wonât work early, when itâs not a big deal, seems worth it.
Maybe set the order of distributing the final email could be set by the order the trial run is received and processed.
Just a thought.
Well if I were a betting manâŚand I am, I would bet it will be another week or more till everyone has Z4 installed and working. The fact that we have not heard anything about whats going on makes me thing there is something wrong and they dont know what it is.
This whole reason is why Bit torrent would be the best way to go. Everyone that is downloading is also acting like a server so there would not be any huge problem with the servers getting over loaded.
I have filled out a ticket but I just wanted to say my email is correct in my CB account and still have not received my email. I have also checked my spam box and no email has gone into the spam folder. I just checked and my email is correct.
Just wanted to say I think some people have slipped through the cracks with the correct email on file. Oh and do you know how long it will be before we get a reply to the support ticket???
On a side note, I have owned ZB since 1.23 and every time there is an update this horror show happens. I know it must be a horror show for you folks as well as the users. Why do you keep using this same flawed process. Would it not be better for you and us to move on to something a bit better?

Iâve submitted a help ticket yesterday, I hope to get this problem solved soon.

All I can say is that I know how you feel, I had to wait an entire week compared to those who got it the first the day.
Canât imagine what it must be like for first time buyers :eek:

FYI for anyone still waiting. I received my email last night. Installation and activation went smooth. My support ticket was answered within 24 hours.
